Oasis of the Seas Delivered to Royal Caribbean Cruiseline

Mega Ship on Its Way from Finland to Home Port in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Scheduled to leave Finland on 31 October 2009, Oasis of the Seas will take approximately 2 weeks to journey to its home port of Fort Lauderdale in the US.

Oasis of the Seas is the world's largest and most expensive cruise ship. It can accommodate 6,360 passengers and 2,160 crew. Imaging cruising on a ship with six levels of staterooms, a turf-covered chip and putt golf course, 21 swimming pools, an aqua park, a casino, and real trees. Add to that the world's first open-air amphitheatre at the stern, two surfing simulators and restaurants along a boardwalk and you have more than what you would find at any top rated resort.

If you can afford to stay in the largest suite, you will be ensconced in 156 square metres of luxury with your own 78.3-square-metre balcony with a jacuzzi.

Measuring 360 metres long and 47 metres wide, Oasis of the Seas is 16 decks high, or 65 metres above the waterline. Oasis of the Seas is 50% bigger than its nearest rival, Cunard's elegant ocean liner Queen Mary 2.

On board facilities include a casino and spa, restaurants and shops, but those looking for more excitement can choose between pool surfing, rock-climbing and a whiz above the boardwalk on a zip line.

Oasis of the Seas will cruise mainly in the Caribbean, and has attracted strong pre-bookings despite the global financial crisis. Royal Caribbean have reported their aim is to lure new customers who have not cruised before. There are still places aboard for the ship's maiden cruising voyage in December.

Oasis of the Seas will make its four-night maiden cruising voyage from Fort Lauderdale to Labadee in Haiti on 1 December 2009.
