Obama to Attend Super Bowl XLV, If Bears Make It

Presidential Football Fan May Point for Dallas February 6th

Barack Obama, 44th President of the United States, may be the first U.S. President ever to attend the National Football League (NFL) Super Bowl Game in person.

With 18 days remaining until the big game, President Obama offhandedly promised to go to Super Bowl XLV, if the Chicago Bears make the high-profile championship football game.

Presently, the President's public schedule is clear for the entire Super Bowl weekend, according to the White House.

The Bears will play the Green Bay Packers on January 23rd for the NFC title. If the Chicago Bears beat the Green Bay Packers at Soldier Field on Sunday, January 23rd, they will face either the New York Jets or the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLV at Dallas' Cowboy Stadium on Sunday, February 6th.

This year's two Super Bowl teams will be determined on Sunday, January 23rd. The Bears and the Packers will play, as will the Jets and the Steelers. The two victors will face off in Arlington, Texas, home of the Dallas Cowboys, for the Super Bowl.

"If the Bears win, I'm going. No doubt," remarked President Barack Obama to a CNN television camera operator during a press opportunity at the White House on January 19th. The President was preparing to meet with Chinese President Hu Jintao in the Oval Office in Washington, DC.

Obama is a Chicago Bears fan.

Born in Hawaii, but calling Chicago his hometown, the 49-year-old American President is an avid Bear fan.

Obama is publicly cheering his home team towards a bid for the 45th annual Super Bowl. Obama has said he plans to watch the NFL's NFC title game on January 23rd, pitting the Chicago Bears against their arch rival Green Bay Packers, in the White House theater.

Now in the third year of his Presidential term, Obama is eagerly awaiting Super Bowl Sunday. In past years, President Obama hosted bipartisan football parties in the White House to celebrate NFL's biggest game of the season. Obama has also offered live televised media statements during recent Super Bowl games.

For Super Bowl XLV, whether the Bears play or not, President Obama is scheduled for a television interview with Bill O'Reilly of Fox TV. If the Bears beat the Packers and head for the Super Bowl, the President will point Air Force One for Texas, and Bill O'Reilly will likely have to meet Obama there for a Super Bowl Sunday interview.

Obama also loves the Chicago Bulls and the White Sox.

As a Chicago sports fan and former U.S. Senator from Illinois, President Obama has attended Chicago Bulls basketball games and Chicago White Sox baseball games. Apparently, the Prez has not been seen at the friendly confines of Wrigley Field (home of the Chicago Cubs), and he was not present for the Chicago Blackhawks' Stanley Cup victory in 2010.

Bear down, Chicago Bears!

The leader of the free world is watching, and he is eager to make travel plans for Super Bowl Sunday. Quite likely, so is the President's entire entourage.

Well that would be a big to-do: at the game itself and in history! I'm a Bears fan myself so I hope they get there anyway ;)
