Obama Brings Good News for the Unemployed Waiting on Unemployment Benefits Extension

Obama to the Rescue!

S Gardner
Millions of unemployed Americans remain on the edge of their seats, waiting to see if the Senate will pass an extension of unemployment benefits so they can feed their families while searching for a job that, for most - let's be honest - doesn't exist. The Senate voted down the unemployment benefits and tax "Extenders" bill yesterday, raising the anxiety level of millions as we wait to hear if they will approve a revised bill in the near future.

But while the Senate wrangles, President Obama has not been idle. Yes, as the Democrats continue to refuse to entertain Republican proposals that would actually pay for the unemployment benefits "Extenders" bill so responsible senators on both sides of the aisle can see their way clear to vote for it (click here), and while the Dems continue to bat the unemployed around like a campaign balloon (click here), Obama has taken the initiative to mitigate the consequences of his economy and job killing policies and his Democrat Congressional Cronies' self-serving manuverings by announcing his Five Year Plan - to Combat Homelessness! (click here) Ho-Zanna!

I don't know about you, but this is just the solution I wanted to hear from my President. Sure, I've lived in my home for over 20 years and, now that my unemployment benefits have been cut off (without warning, I might add) as of last Saturday, if they don't pass something quick I will probably lose it. But if I can rest in the knowledge that Obama is going to further suck my employed neighbors dry and burden several more generations of my progeny to pay for me to stay on a comfortable cot in a comfortable shelter, then what am I worried about? Heck, it'll be like summer camp for the once-middle class!

Or maybe they'll put us all up in the homes we lose, we unemployed who it appears the Democrats have decided to abandon in favor of keeping their bloated office budgets and political payoffs and pork barrel projects intact (Read this). I mean, millions of other foreclosed homes are just sitting empty already. At least we could keep the grass mowed - or just eat it.

On second thought, although Obama's homeless plan sounds like, well, Nirvana, I'm thinking I'd kinda like to keep my kid and myself in our own home and be able to put food on my own table rather than have it ladled from a soup kitchen and I'd like this government to stop messing with the private sector so I have a chance to get back to work. So I'm going to go on fighting for Congress and the President to hear me - I hope you will, too!

Tell Congress to vote in favor of Sen. John Thune's proposal to pay for the unemployment benefits extensions and tell them to stop the job and private sector killing policies so we unemployed CAN GET A JOB. (Click here for a comprehensive contact list for lawmakers)

Well here we are 7/15/2010 and still no word on unemployment extenders bill..This was published by S. Gardner on 6-17-2010- Obama brings good news for the UNEMPLOYED waiting on benefits extension,OBAMA TO THE RESCUE,but dont panic a new bill should be introduced PROMPTL--Yet we, the unemployed americans, are still waiting for congress to decide on this most crucial EXTENSION!! Why has OMBAMA, and the senate, and the news media not reporting about this most important unemployment problem??This is the most insensitive thing Obama and the senate could do to the UNEMPLOYED WORKERS OF AMERICA. Lets take care of our people, before they lose everything they have WORKED FOR.If the US.is in a recession ,and they dont take care of the people that are unemployed we will be in a depression,we will never forget!!!!!!!!!!

I am now a homeless disabled veteran because congress delayed extending the unemployment benefits. I have been trying to get a job for almost a year and can't. I was told by the Veterans Administration that it would take about five years to get any disabillity benefits. I cannot get a voter card without an address. Maybe this was the plan of congress with elections coming up. Additonally, I can only sell drugs and sex to support myself. Thank God I'm single and don't have to support an entire family like so many other homeless I know have to do. Congress' plan with upcoming elections is to make it hard for angry voters to vote. If caught, I will become a felon and will never be able to vote, but I will not be silenced. It seems congress is only concerned about elections and raising money for their party. They also seem concerned aabout the growing deficit. I recommend ending the war and using deplomacy. Remember Vietnam. Legalize drugs, prostitution, and gambling and tax it so
