Obama Changes NASCAR by Ordering GM and Chrysler Out

But it's Just an April Fools Joke, Brought to You by Caranddriver.com

Barack Obama may not be considered an obvious NASCAR fan. Obama and his liberal crowd are not usually the target NASCAR audience, since they would rather do New York Times crossword puzzles on Sunday than watch NASCAR. But President Obama still felt the need to interfere with auto racing, as part of his restructuring of the auto industry. With General Motors and Chrysler now under Obama's thumb, they may be taken out of the NASCAR business in order to get out of bankruptcy.

On his way to the G-20 summit, President Obama ordered that GM and Chrysler must pull out of NASCAR at the end of the season, as per the terms of receiving any more bailouts. The move may save up to $250 million for the two failing companies.

Many feared that President Obama would take massive action after making moves to practically take over the auto industry. Now it appears he's taking partisan action, in a move that will hurt one of the favorite pastimes of the conservative-leaning South.

Not only will General Motors and Chrysler have to leave NASCAR, Ford may have to make the choice too if it wants government assistance at a later date, according to President Obama's statement.

President Obama used language sure to make NASCAR fans irate, accusing the sport of flaunting its standing "among the lowest-tech forms of motorsport." Since auto racing doesn't advance car technology, Obama deems it a waste of time for GM, Chrysler, and maybe more struggling auto makers down the road.

The move is bound to give Obama a much needed win among the hard-core liberal base, who feel betrayed by some of Obama's less hard-left decisions since taking office. Interfering with a sport that wastes untold amounts of gas for 500 miles, and is too busy raping the environment to consider switching to hybrid-car racing, should get Obama some brownie points back.

Not only that, it could teach the South a lesson for not voting for Obama, and could make them desperate enough to stop backing conservatives, if it will get them their NASCAR back. Such a political strategy could cement Obama as the Messiah for all America, not just the parts that aren't the real America.

For those who think President Obama is too centrist and has little guts to make any real changes, NASCAR fans have learned the truth the hard way.

Jesse Sears, above, nails this joke. It is misleading and I almost started believing it. I am sure there are a lot of people that did believe it. This is just another way to bait the sharks out there as I see it.

Not a wise move, reporting this joke with a headline passing it off as the truth. I was researching this and lots of articles like this one came up. It misleads people!

It would be a better joke if it weren't so plausible.

Besides the fact that this is an April Fool's joke the author fails to realize that NC went to Obama and any NASCAR fan knows that is the home and birthplace of the sport.

The NASCAR connection is really something. Nice job!
