Obama: Changing the World

Dee Rivers
U.S. Senator Barack Obama, potentially the next President of the United States, has brought about a change.

During his Democratic Candidacy, Obama invited grass root organizations to provide their views on social issues which in return opened the minds of both women and blue collar workers. He requested his supporters to lend both their votes AND voices. His advocacy for change and unity has become the hope of the youth.

His agenda on health care, education, and efforts to restore the economic stability of the middle class made many Americans feel at ease that a change was finally near. In increasing the United States Economy, Obama intends to strengthen the American family by re-introducing the Responsible Fatherhood and Healthy Families Act and the expansion of the Nurse-Family Partnership program to all low-income and first-time mothers.

Senator Obama's promises of removing U.S. troops from Iraq and bringing them home has given their families a sense of comfort. Recently, he met with war veterans to obtain feedback regarding changes they wanted to witness in Washington. Obama is dedicated in reaching out to U.S. veterans and fulfilling the needs of those who have fought for his country.

Obama is a man of diversity. Born to a white mother and black father, Obama is man for all people and has the ability to reach audiences of all races and ages. Many see him as a reflection of themselves and a prospect of what this world could be. He takes pride in his country and values the expectations that other countries have of the U.S. Obama is determined to meet those expectations not only for the security of U.S. but he believes the world demands it.

Obama's nomination, even if he isn't awarded the title of President of the United States, will remain relevant in the minds of both Americans and the entire world.

A change has come and people from all walks of life; the old and the young, the rich and the poor; America and the entire world is going to remain interested in the man who made history by becoming the United State's first black presidential nominee.
