Back to Obama and Hillary. Hillary is a very strong woman and I know that she will be able to lead the world because of her experience as senator and the help she provided Bill Clinton when he was in office. She has made history already as being the first woman senator elected in New York. She has helped many while in office and doesn't break a sweat while doing so. She keeps her composure regardless of what is being said about her or asked of her.
Barack Obama has been in senator role too, but he is much younger than Hillary and may not have the same experience as she does. He has helped many while in office as well and will probably without a doubt be able to lead the world. But am not sure how people will treat him because of all the things that are already being said about him. He has allegedly said racist comments and has been heard saying that he would not serve with Hillary Clinton if she wins. One thing everyone does say about him though is that he is an excellent public speaker (even if he was accused of stealing speeches from other leaders)and may be one of the best speakers of all time.
McCain is in the running too, but because of the background of the other two he is hardly talked about. He has senator experience as well, served at Vietnam and after almost dying in an accidental fire, instead of going home he decided to stay and continue to serve his country. He retired with many medals and now is focusing on his campaign for presidency.
All in all it will be a tough race, and having either one in office will be great. I would rather see a woman in office because we have never had a woman president, but if it doesn't happen that's okay too. I am sure that many will be watching this presidential race closer than ever because of it's potential to make history. And once Hillary is president I am sure that it will open the path to all the woman who have thought about running but never actually did.

Post a CommentInteresting that you mention history. Our own history predicts that Obama will win: historically, Blacks always 'move up' before women do: right to vote, right to own property, anti-discrimination laws; all these historic things came to Blacks first, and eventually women followed. Of course, historical trends do not apply to individuals, but, even so... Frankly, most people make up their minds without knowing all (or even most) of the facts, so this election will probably be determined largely by stereotype, not the individual traits of the candidates. Because of that, we can reasonably expect that Barack will defeat Hillary. As to November... history's future doesn't look so favorable. There is a chance, of course. Particularly in this reverse-racist era we live in. Still, it is hard to say how the general election might go.
