Obama or Clinton - Why Barack Appeals to Everyday People

Mary Apple
There are still many voters out there who are undecided with the Democratic primaries. With Clinton and Obama still neck and neck, it is more important than it ever has been for each person to make an educated decision and get out there and vote. Listed below are the reasons why everyone should vote Barack.

1. He believes healthcare is for everyone and his solutions are realistic.

2. Barack doesn't believe in mandating healthcare. Possible garnishing of paychecks to pay for the government's healthcare system seems like robbery and personal choice disintegration.

3. Barack is not a flip-flopper; he was against the war from day one. He never wavered in his convictions.

4. Barack has fresh and new ideas.

5. Barack's done a lot of community service. Actually giving up big bucks job to help others says much about his character.

6. Barack doesn't hold his Christian values over the heads of America. He respects diversity and other values. He realizes that religion was not the guiding factor.

7. According to Republican voters, the only person that would have them think twice about there own party is Barack Obama. His Unitarian ideals appeal to everyone.

8. He has a realistic plan to conserve energy. He plans to fine big factory companies who pollute the environment. This will cause an influx in the green house safe products. Companies that buy into it are rewarded with big tax breaks. He also thinks that the same thing should be done about buying hybrid cars. He's a firm believer in doing what he tells others to do.

9. Lobbyists hold no power over his decision making due to debts.

10. Barack is a champion of the arts. He believes that art, music, and creativity in general are the most forgotten parts of our education system and will bring those classes back to educate young people in thinking abstractly not just concretely.

11. He has a realistic plan for removing troops from Iraq that will not result in abandoning the Iraqi people or yielding the area to terrorists.

12. He believes college is for everyone, and that recent graduates should not begin their adult lives buried in debt.

13. He is an excellent role model for black youths of America. He has spent much time in the streets of American cities seeing problems first-hand.

14. He was raised middle-class by a single mother and working-class grandparents.

I don't think he would be appealing to the NICE people of the midwest after his "gaff" this week.

I could copy-paste most of this article and call it "Why Clinton Appeals to Everyday People."

Spider Lady say Barack Husan Obama is not a flip flop he is a tap dancer...listen bewteen the lines he never commits to anything ... He appears to appeal to the NICE people of the midwest ...because he is a good talker... He is seeling feel good...Isn't that what ALL black men are good at? (If it's true does it make it a racist remark?) Hope does not make a very filling soup.

Good Morning, Mary: Except for a very exclusive few, we all are "everyday people." The points you cite either (1) do not differentiate Senator Obama from Senator Clinton; or (2) do not accurately state Obama's credentials, policy positions, and/or experiences; or (3) are PR spin from the Obama hype camp; or (4) are false. Point #4 is the most dangerous: what "fresh and new ideas" does Obama have? Name and explain one. Moreover, how will he implement that "fresh and new idea"? Tomorrow, before you make one of the most important decisions of you life, please read and reflect on "Election 2008 - it Isn't About Four Years" and "John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, Barack H. Obama and the Presidential Mantle." You will not have a second chance. Be well, Michael

Excellent article. Saw Hillary's latest emotional outburst today. Even as she is wagging her finger saying "shame on you" to Obama she says "he has no health care plan". Has she flipped her lid? Not that she has not been guilty of lying before but it seems like "when you are pointing fingers 3 more are pointing back at you." Especially funny was how she ranted on about "special interest groups". Obama does not have any, she has plenty. Check out her PAC's at Open Secrets online. I am tired of her emotional roller coaster, anger, and dramas already. If the Democrats give her the bid I will have to choose between McCain (too old, and like her wants into Iran when we can not pay for Iraq) or Cynthia McKinney with the Green Party. Sad, because either vote means I lose; my grandchildren lose; children globally lose. Sad. Sad. Sad.

I live in Cincinnati as well, and I was cracking up when channel 9 had Hillary on before Obama even got here. They were asking her about the contrasts between them and she was going on and on about Universal Healthcare and how he was not with it. Then they went to break and Obama's first paid for commercial came on about his mom and bein' 53 and all the bills, and all it was about was universal healthcare. I about fell out of my seat not only because it was contradicting what Clinton was saying in her interview, but they aired it in between breaks! Too funny

Obama is guilty of flip-flopping. He originally voted against the Patriot Act, but then voted to renew it just last year.

He believes art, music and physical education should be part of a child's education, that they should not just be taught to pass tests, but should be educated. He believes teachers should be paid better, because educated children make better adults. He has done much work on behalf of veterans. He was the only Senator contacted that wrote a letter and donated to females in South Dakota when all Senators were asked for their help. He has an ability to unite people. He brings an educated and strong female to the White House with him as First Lady. She grew up in a one bedroom apartment, watched her father go to work everyday on crutches and yet managed to overcome almost impossible odds to become the woman she is today. He motivates and inspires children of any color to get involved and vote; he gives them hope for a better future.
