President Obama highlights on a green economy and jobs for the future. The stimulus that was set aside was acclaimed to be five billion dollars, but there has a lot of talk, but not very much action. President Obama and Vice President Biden have a concentrated plan to invest, and create millions of new green jobs. Their goal is five million green collar jobs. This bold new national goal on energy efficiency has been talked about all over the United States, but nothing is happening. According to the Obama-Biden comprehensive new energy for America plan will need new energy. They want five million green collar jobs, a bold new national goal on energy efficiency, and a wide use of American energy.

According to http://my.barackobama.com, the Obama-Biden internet page, their new energy for America plan will include:

"1. Provide short-term relief to American families facing pain at the pump

2. Help create five million new jobs by strategically investing $150 billion over the next ten years to catalyze private efforts to build a clean energy future.

3. Within 10 years save more oil than we currently import from the Middle East and Venezuela combined.

4. Put 1 million Plug-In Hybrid cars -- cars that can get up to 150 miles per gallon -- on the road by 2015, cars that we will work to make sure are built here in America.

5. Ensure 10 percent of our electricity comes from renewable sources by 2012, and 25 percent by 2025.

6. Implement an economy-wide cap-and-trade program to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 80 percent by 2050. "

The plan is said to provide short-term relief to American families. The plan is suppose to provide $1,000 dollars back on energy bills. This rebate for American families will help crack down on energy usage in America. He also wants to swap oil from the strategic petroleum reserve to cut prices. In order to eliminate the current imports from the Middle East and Venezuela within ten years. He will increase fuel economy standards, a one-million plug-in hybrid cars on the road by 2015. He wants to create a new $7,000 tax credit for purchasing new vehicles. Obama-Biden want a low carbon fuel standard and approach a new existing oil and gas leases called "Use is or Lose it."

The green jobs will ensure that ten percent of our electricity from renewable sources by 2012, and it will increase to twenty-five percent by 2025.
