Obama is CZAR Crazy!

Scotty Starnes
President Obama claims he is a "student of history." I guess we are getting a good idea about what history books he has been reading. With all the "czars" that he has appointed to his administration, it is obvious that he has been reading about Russian history.

The term "czar" appears nowhere in the United States Constitution. From Obama's action since taking office, you can clearly see that he does not believes in the Constitution. Right now this article is going to concentrate on these "czars" appointed by President Obama.

The word czar has been around since the establishment of Rome. It was commonly used in Russia to describe the autocratic rulers of the country. Germany used a similar term and called their rulers kaiser. President Obama has come down with czar fever and it is something the American people should be worried about.

Throughout history, those who were czars basically ruled without having to answer to anyone. They were a law unto themselves. This is the danger of having such individuals appointed by an elected President.

Former President Bush is to blame for introducing the term "czar" into his administration by appointing Bill Bennett as his "drug czar." President Obama has taken this to a new height. He has appointed more czars than the Romanov Dynasty did in 300 years of Russian history.

Today, Obama appointed Kenneth Feinberg as "pay czar." Yes, this is getting to be ridiculous. Obama is really arrogant but this takes it to a new level. The level is called SOCIALISM.

We have to remember Steven Rattner who is President Obama's scandalous "car czar." Here is a list of the "czars" that have been appointed by Comrade Obama.

Energy czar Carol Browner, Urban czar Adolfo Carrion, Jr., Infotech czar Vivek Kundra, Faith-based czar Joshua DuBois, Health reform czar Nancy-Ann DeParle, new TARP czar Herb Allison, Stimulus accountability czar Earl Devaney, Non-Proliferation czar Gary Samore, Terrorism czar John Brennan, Regulatory czar Cass Sunstein, Drug czar Gil Kerlikowske, and Guantanamo closure czar Daniel Fried.

President Obama even appointed Cameron Davis as "Great Lake czar" because he wants to clean up the Great Lakes. Did I mention that he also appointed a "cyber security czar?" What will be his next "czar?"

You know it is getting bad when a former member of the Ku Klux Klan comes out against Obama's czar lust. Sen. Robert Byrd (D) from West Virginia claimed "The rapid and easy accumulation of power by White House staff can threaten the Constitutional system of checks and balances," Byrd wrote in a letter to Obama. "At the worst, White House staff have taken direction and control of programmatic areas that are the statutory responsibility of Senate-confirmed officials."

Oh, I forgot to mention. Obama appoints his czars and they only answer to him. They do not go through Congressional hearings like those individuals appointed to cabinet positions. These czars pretty much dictate policies and work behind the scenes.

"Too often, I have seen these lines of authority and responsibility become tangled and blurred, sometimes purposely, to shield information and to obscure the decision-making process," Byrd wrote. Now, does this scare you? It should.

Why is Obama so obsessed with these czars and what does he plan to do with them? His goal is to expand government's tentacles into nearly every nook and cranny of American government, business, and personal life. Don't believe that? Lets look at what has happened so far.

Under Obama, our government is now in the business of running the auto industry. His car czar, Steven Rattner, is involved in so many scandals (seems to be a pattern for Obama appointees) I'd be amazed if there isn't a scandal about Obama's handling of the debacle with General Motors.

General Motors should have went into bankruptcy months ago but Obama kept pumping billions of taxpayer's dollars into the flawed company. It is too big to fail was the cry. Now it is a huge mess and ones affected are the U.S. taxpayer and the debt holders of GM.

The main goal of Obama's car czar was simple. The czar was to strong arm General Motors into making vehicles the American public do not desire and to protect those who bankroll the Democratic Party... the United Auto Workers Union.

We cannot forget the bank bailouts and Obama has his sights fixed on Health care. Nothing this administration has done so far has worked. Maybe that is what the czars are for?

What is scary is how Obama is running an end game around the Constitution. These czars are not going to be held responsible for decisions they make. They are not required to testify in front of congress and these policies that Obama has enacted are not working for the best interest of our country.

All in all, Obama is surely taking America down a path towards Socialism. I tried to give him the opportunity to set his course and the course of history he has chosen is wrong.

Our President, the student of history, needs to read other books. Maybe books from Thomas Jefferson or others who helped construct the U.S. Constitution. His czar craziness has to be stopped and he should be held accountable for their actions.

I have a "czar" for you Mr. President. How about you appointing an "apology czar" who can travel and apologize on your behalf to every country in the world. That way you can stay in the White House and work on this lousy economy. Now that is a czar I would enjoy seeing appointed. All hail "Czar Obama."

The writer of this article needs to sit down and do some research. The term "czar" has been used as a nickname for presidential appointees since Roosevelt's time. George W. Bush had 33 czars, including an "Abstinence Czar."

I'll just call them "un-constitutional" since they bypass congressional authority and do not have to be confirmed or answer to anybody but Obama.

Would you feel better if they called them overseers, supervisors, or managers? Because that's all they are, basically, and those names would be more fitting/less historical.

Bravo, Scotty. I just posted an article yesterday with more info about Obama's very shady czars and appointees, and after I published, your link came up so I came on over to read. Come on over if you get a chance.
