Obama Embraces Radical Imam and Denounces Radical Pastor

Tony Jingo
It has been widely reported that a Florida pastor planned on a Quran burning event to coincide with the ninth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks by Muslim jihadists. It was breaking news on Thursday when Pastor Terry Jones canceled his "International Burn a Koran Day."

During the height of controversy over the Koran burning, Obama spoke out against it making it clear that he was speaking as "Commander in chief of the armed forces of the United States." From this newly acknowledged position, the POTUS warned of the dangers to our troops and claimed the Florida pastor's actions were counter to American values; clearly Obama made this a national issue.

Additionally, during the height of controversy over Imam Rauf's desire via his Cordoba Initiative to erect a mosque 600-feet from Ground Zero, populate his already established Sharia Index Project, put into motion the subject of his book (published by terror supporting organizations) calling for dawa from the rubble of the WTC site and a Sharia compliant America, President Obama refused to weigh in brushing it off as a "local issue."

Not only didn't the president denounce the imam's nefarious designs, he later embraced them during Ramadan celebrations at the White House.

Now, this isn't a matter of pointing to bad behavior (radical imam) to justify other bad behavior (radical pastor). Both actions should be denounced, therein lays the rub and the point.

Where is the outrage and protest?

While the actions of Terry Jones are rightly abhorred, one must ask where the outrage is over the burning of American flags, Christian bibles and other hateful acts.

Where was the outrage when the Islamic Thinkers Society in NYC launched Operation Desecrate the American Flag?

How about the burning of the Quran by the hateful and vile Westboro Baptist Church (WBC)?

Not only did the disgusting WBC burn the Quran in 2008 they are vowing to do it again this Saturday. They also promise to burn the American flag to commemorate the ninth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

The WBC proudly proclaims their hate for America, Muslims, Jews, homosexuals and proudly boasts how their church will not pray for America and wickedly claims that God was responsible for the 9/11 attacks.

Do you remember who else proudly called for God to damn America and blame America for the 9/11 attacks? Yes, Jeremiah Wright; that hateful and radical pastor performed his most bigoted and anti-American acts while he was the mentor and spiritual leader to a man that sat in his pew for over 20-years, that man is Barack Obama. Perhaps, why the WBC is not on the president's radar?

When the WBC protested the funeral of a fallen soldier and taunted the family of that soldier during the funeral, the father sued and won. The 4th circuit court of appeals overruled Mr. Snyder's win, citing free speech for the haters. The court subsequently awarded WBC court costs and ordered the father of the killed Marine to pay WBC $16,000.

Where was the outrage and protest?

The WBC, in addition to thanking God for IEDs, promises to continue protesting the funerals of the fallen and to continue burning the American flag and the Quran.

Do the anti-American actions of the WBC motivate the current commander-in-chief to forgive the Quran burning of this vile church?

Yes, much of the hateful rhetoric and actions described are constitutionally protected. Does that mean we should acquiesce to the president cherry-picking which radical to denounce or which one to embrace?

Where was the "commander in chief of the armed forces of the United States" when the U.S. military in 2009 was ordered to burn bibles sent to Afghanistan?

If we are to champion liberty for all, then where do the Constitutional rights of Pastor Jones come into play?

Are we to believe that the actions of one fringe Florida pastor with a tiny congregation represents a national security risk by burning books, even if those books are considered holy by a specific group?

At the end of the day Pastor Jones' reckless behavior would have resulted in a pile of ashes. At the end of the day Imam Rauf's nefarious designs has the capacity to erode our freedoms for generations to come in addition to providing comfort and succor to an active enemy that we are currently fighting abroad and within.

Yes, Jones' actions should disgust decent Americans and regardless if those actions were legal when an honorable general on the ground states that those actions will increase the dangers to our troops, decent Americans will also want Jones to cease and desist.

However, let us not play into the POTUS' radical appeasement. Jones' actions will not increase the hate leveled at us from Muslim jihadists, the enemy will have merely capitalized on his event to display their hate for America.

The Muslim jihadists were chanting death to America long before Jones' misguided proposal.

Blaming Jones for the actions of the radical Muslims is tantamount to blaming the birthday party for the imbibing of the alcoholic. It may have been irresponsible to invite the alcoholic to the party but the party is not the root of his poisonous addiction.

Muslim jihadists are addicted to and hell-bent on destroying the West. Imam Rauf and his Sharia Index Project, his Cordoba Initiative and his Victory Mosque pose a far greater risk to our national security and to our troops than a 50-man congregation having an unchristian like bonfire on private property.

My take on this is pretty simple; everything has a limit. You can't eat 100 Oreo cookies with repercussions. You can't slam someones religion without it coming back to haunt you. Even if you don't agree with the religious path that someone takes it doesn't give you the right to "put them on the cross". Another excellent piece!
