How this happened: Obama was giving a talk about that fiasco debate the other night where Clinton and ABC Commentators seemed to be ganging up on him. He commented that Clinton seemed to be in her element and up popped that finger to scratch an itch on his cheek. The crowd seemed to love it, too! Or, they may have just been cheering over his assessment of the debate. We'll never know if Obama used that finger on purpose.
Laughing! Well, I guess this settles the issue about which candidate is more attuned to the American public? Clinton and her expensive whiskey shots plus beer chugging on camera the other night, to show that she's just like us, is really paled beside a man who is smiling while quietly scratching his cheek. Clinton and her booze, plus Bill and his cigars, just can't hold a candle to this classy little cheek scratch.
Okay, I agree. We can't have a president running around scratching his cheek every time something bothers him; nor should we have one drinking shots and beer on television, and we probably should look at expected age related health being a big problem with the other one. With these choices, I like the cheek scratch best. It made me laugh.
Does everybody remember that kid's movie about the Beverly Hillbillies moving to Hollywood that came out during the last century? I laughed so hard when they hit the Los Angeles freeway system in that old truck and people started throwing the finger salute. Jethro decided that the finger salute must be a fancy way of waving hello, and everybody started waving a cheery "howdy" with that finger salute all over the place.
In Iran, the thumbs up symbol means the same thing as our American finger does and in other places the first finger going up is the bad one. Poor Obama should probably not scratch anything else for the duration... or, maybe we'll have a new war break out.
Has everybody seen that cute joke where you hold up your hand and wave all of your fingers? That's a flock of finger salutes going by...
Yes, I can see where some people are going to be completely offended by this cheek scratch video. Those are the ones supporting the drinker with the cigar expert husband as the all-Americans. The finger and the bottle will probably always be at odds; they are two different types of typical American. Just as Christians who salute the American flag will always be at odds with those who think that saluting the flag is idol worship.
The bottom line to these two candidates, Obama and Clinton, is that they're both out-of-line. Obama shouldn't be scratching his cheek for laughs, and Clinton shouldn't be showing it as proper for our young girls to drink like she does at functions. I started off being a Clinton fan because she was a woman; she's disappointed me. Obama seems like a better choice all of the way around.
