Obama and the Fist Bump

That's One Giant Bump for Mankind? or a Slow News Day

Marion Head
Well, Me and my curiosity went to see what some of the bigger hit stories were and we stumbled across the search words "Obama fist bump". Without reading I was wondering if this was some major faux pas and if someone was struck unconscious in the melee. My curiosity got the best of me so I had to click. What I read was a bit interesting and a bit disturbing. On the top ten most searched hot articles about what might possibly be our future president is an entire article about...get this... a hand gesture. OK, so there are some implications of breaking paradigm here but a hand gesture. It lasted all but a second when he and his Wife Michelle touched fists together on the stage in St Paul, Minnesota. You would have thought they did a secret masonic handshake to get that much press attention.

What reduces Americans to focus on such trivial aspects and blow them utterly out of proportion? Have we been so influenced by trivia shows and reality shows that the only thing that matters is small stuff like hand bumps and who has the immunity idol this week? The incident was worth a minor mention in an article on clenching the nomination but a whole article on that it self?

What will we see next? Perhaps Mr. Obama is sending a hidden message in his cuff links or buttons. Maybe they will start a Michelle style and hair watch. Oh don't forget shoes, we need to make sure they are wearing the proper shoes! Michelle was wearing Pearls and Purple at the convention. Maybe the purple signifies royalty and the pearls value. Is anyone going to write about the history of the pearl and how we got purple dye?
You know what Obama ate for lunch yesterday but do you know his policy on Abortion? You know Obama's diet and his health history but do you know how he feels about minimum wage?

Oh, he is so cool he does the fist bump so I am going to vote for him! If this is what America has come to we are in big trouble...baaa..baaa what is that sound? Sheepole!
