Obama Grants Loan for New Nuclear Power Plants

How is This Gonna Change Things?

From the start Georgia will see a increase in energy costs to help pay for the new plants like expected. This is going towards paying to fix a problem that just doesn't exist yet. Obama claims its to help fight greenhouse emissions although scientists from the University of Michigan states that we wouldn't see any changes from global warming for another hundred years or more. Then only slight changes there on over many many years. Agriculturally, Dr. Sylvan H. Wittwer believes that global warming is good for the human race. It helps improve food production.

Sure its like cutting out 3.2 million cars from traffic but does that matter while all the high level nuclear waste they produce gets disposed of underground? Since when have we seen energy shortages either? Doesn't that leave people paying more for energy not needed and more waste that can cause concern for local inhabitants?

Although the reactors will create around 800 new permanent jobs millions will be paying more for energy. With 8 billions dollars maybe Obama could have invested in a more suitable way to dispose of the nuclear waste we already generate and save Georgia citizens more money all together.

On the upside of all this though close to 800 lucky people could end up with a new job paying more and maybe climates wont increase as rapidly as expected from greenhouse emissions.

Nuclear energy is by far more stable and less hazardous in the terms of making it. Its reported more that many miners die every year mining for coal. Where as only a few unfortunate people die every so often usually caused by accidents or flaws in the equipment when it come to nuclear energy. There is always a chance of nuclear meltdown though, just take a look at Cheronobyl.

Did you know that uranium only costs as low as $20 to $60 per pound? That's far cheaper than any fossil fuels we use.

If Obama was after a cleaner source of energy he picked the right choice. Coal releases a lot of carbon monoxide so coals not very clean. Although nuclear energy still produces more hazardous waste that lasts a lot longer it doesn't shoot right into the air and allows for more regulated disposal.
