His low-profile with this crisis should give a serious warning of what will happen if America is truly attacked and the attack is successful, will he be vacationing somewhere not to be seen or heard in public for several days before he says one word? Is this what we are to expect from our President that when a crisis occurs, he will hide and wait until he thinks it is ready to speak?
I am not insinuating that he should hop on his plane and head back to the White House but coming out to support the American people and to reassure them that everything will be alright is his duty and obligation as Commander-in-Chief. Obviously, this is a glimpse of his style in the face of a crisis but to put it bluntly - this is a style we can do without.
As reported by Politico.com, Obama is supposed to come out of hiding and publically address this incident sometime this week and Obama's aides say, that his approach to this attempted terrorist attack is to seek a fact-based assessment which is why he allowed his senior staffers to make the public comments for him - and who was elected President, staffers or Obama?
It has also been reported in the news that he has held secured teleconferences everyday with his top National Security advisors and he has ordered a top to bottom review of procedures for screening passengers as well as those on the government's terrorist watch listings. That is all fine and good but does not excuse the fact that Obama has not been in the public. Obama got what he wanted, his healthcare reform although not in law yet so he can leave town. Now a crisis has hit and his vacation cannot be interrupted - probably because he failed to take his speech writers with him and his teleprompter is still out with repairs - because his golf and beach outing would be cancelled.
However, a White House official stated that, "He'll continue to ask the tough questions and respond appropriately as required." Which really means, he has no clue of what to do or what to say - of course the administration naturally comes out and states that by putting Obama out there, would give him added merit, as other terrorists might resort to copy-cat schemes - nice, next you hear that the moon really is dusty. Terrorists don't need to copy-cat anything as they have attempted this type of attack before.
DHS Napolitano was asked by CNN's Candy Crowley on how it could be possible that a young Nigerian was able to smuggle explosive liquid onto the flight if the system presently in place was successful. Napolitano stated, "We're asking the same questions."
Asked by CNN's Candy Crowley on "State of the Union" how that could be possible when the young Nigerian who sought to set off the bomb was able to smuggle explosive liquid onto the flight, Napolitano responded: "We're asking the same questions." Maybe it's because the flight originated outside the U.S. - that would be my guess.
Napolitano went on the say that there was no suggestion that the bomber was not screened properly. Really - can one explain how he got onboard the plane with what he had? Now it seems after saying the system worked, she conceded and now says it failed - you think? And this is from a person who that put out the letter accusing Veterans, Conservatives, and gun owners of being the biggest terror threat to America and then refused to apologize for it.
Just like Obama and the rest of the Obama administration, their finger is pointing at this being former Presidents GW Bush's fault since the security procedures were developed and implemented during his administration and pointing out that Umar, the terrorist had been issued a U.S. visa in June of 2008, during the Bush administration.
Never mind that no terrorist ever got this close during the Bush years and yet, this administration continues to forget that Bush is no longer President and this attempted terrorist attack occurred after the Obama administration was alerted by the terrorist's father just last month.
For Obama to be quiet about this for a few days, Napolitano coming out to say the system worked and then back tracked and said it didn't work - that John Kerry statement of voting for and then against is still cliché - presents the reasons for being so quiet. They have no clue of what they are doing and when they mess up, Bush is always there to take the blame. Never blame liberals for anything when someone else can take the blame instead - the liberal spin of blame continues.
Breaking News: Obama finally came out of hiding and spoke. The speech was so powerful; it is not even displayed as a main headline on any of the main stream news - well except for MSNBC, home of the liberal talk piece Keith Olbermann, whose ratings are not worth mentioning.

Post a CommentChristopher, it is funny to go back and read some of these articles, knowing what we know now about Obama, and think why did we allow his insanity to go on so long? We should have impeached him at least a year ago!
