Obama Has Never Met Privately with a Half Dozen of His Cabinet Members

Snidely Whiplash
To call Barack Obama 'hands off" is to redefine the term. Do others find it shocking that according to John Heilemann, national political columnist for New York Magazine, Barack Obama has not met with some of his cabinet members privately in the first two years of the administration thus far. MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell seemed exasperated in her reciting "there were a half a dozen cabinet members who'd not heard from the president personally; had not gotten a phone call from the president or had an opportunity to be one on one with him in the first two years."

Barack Obama really conducts his office more as if he were the figurehead - King as it were - as opposed to being a "hands on" leader of a nation. In the monarchies of the world the monarch is their version of Barack Obama. Problem is the job title of president is not "figurehead."

Leaves one to ask...is Obama arrogant and above it all? Is he too busy with that important installing under cover of darkness the progressive agenda to actually do his job? Does he figure the mundane jobs of governing a nation too "hoi polloi" for him?

So if the stakes are not crippling our domestic energy capacity and security; apologizing and/or bowing to every robed despot in the Third World; sticking his nose in local politics to support union protesters in protesting state governments; borrowing or printing money; monetizing our debt to crush us; running up yearly deficits and the national debt to unforeseen or imagined levels; ordering his Justice Dept. to not enforce our laws; establishing another porkulus to enrich his cronies - unions and government workers; defaming tens and tens of millions of Americans who are in Tea Parties; or my favorite, passing clearly unconstitutional health reforms over the objections of a nation screaming "NO!"...well then clearly he's too busy to bother, right?

At this point it would take a sycophant not to admit, or an idiot not see what's going on here. Barack Obama is using his office to strengthen unions and the progressive base's power. What kind of president does not accelerate oil drilling in the midst of the Middle East imploding? What kind of president runs up more and more massive record deficits and then talks about "fiscal responsibility?" What kind of president spends more time trying to divide us by class than to work to unite the nation?

What kind of president has a room full of advisers who are in some way connected to or expressing admiration for Marxists? What kind of president has ever practiced foreign policy as Obama does? What kind of president purposely alienates Israel and Britain, our two strongest allies in the world for the last 60 years? What kind of president published TWO autobiographies before he ever did anything?

This president has proven he's all about installing his ideological agenda and not too much about actually governing. Only his advisers and true blue supporters agree with much of anything he says or does. When it comes to fixing the economy only the failed Keynesian method is considered, yet when he was forced to yield he extended the Bush tax cuts admitting "now is not the time to raise taxes." Isn't that an admission that raising taxes harm economy? It is indeed, therefore what kind of president ever advocates harming economy?

How much more proof is needed to establish that Barack Obama is not one of us in terms of what America means to him? Is there anyone within the sound of my keyboard who does not believe Obama believes "we are the ones we've been waiting for"- or actually, HE "is the one we've been waiting for?" I have NOT been waiting for you Mr. Obama. I am however waiting for you to be charged with high crimes and misdemeanors and to be impeached, convicted and perp walked out the damned door!

No, this post racial, post partisan, post bickering, all hope and change dude is truly "fundamentally transforming America." Anyone who voted for him feel stupid yet? Ears burning with embarrassment?

I'm not surprised. The only way he likes to meet people is from behind a podium. He thinks he's still campaigning.

When I heard this a week or so ago I was shocked. Maybe I shouldn't be.

Too bad the "ignored" cabinet members don't have enough guts (or sense) to realize how insulted they should be and quit. Oh, wait...then they could not be elitists as well. Sigh.

Scary, isn't it? I wonder what will become of America in the short term. The outlook is very bleak at the moment. cheers

Typical of the feckless community orgainizer-in-chief. Hillary tried to warn those lefties that Obama was known to "vote Present" but they didn't listen. We also have to remember that it was reported ( http://scottystarnes.wordpress.com/2009/09/28/once-are-you-kidding-only-once/)that Obama only spoke to Gen. Stanley McChrystal once during his first 8 months in office. It's the Obama pattern: pass the real work to others as you golf, play basketball, fundraise all over the country and host parties. After all, its more important to meet with those Union leaders than to actually work for America.

Who needs to meet with Cabinet members when he can rule the domain by himself?

I'm not surprised at the angry reaction of Obama supporters when the obvious truth is pointed out. Anger is a secondary reaction to hurt, fear, guilt, or shame. So, were someone to try giving you an angry response to speaking the truth, just know that you're making progress.
