Obama Joker Poster: Is President Obama Really a Socialist?

Rochelle Connery
If you kept up with the posters at Comic-Con this past week, you might've seen the "President Evil" poster depicting a sneering Barack Obama decked in combat gear and bandoleers with his sidekick, er, wife, Michelle Obama, kneeling at his feet. But that's nothing compared to the most recent Obama phenomenon, the Obama Joker Poster, which has recently surfaced in Los Angeles and Atlanta.

No one's taking responsibility for the poster yet, but one rather observant individual has artistically depicted President Obama as a Heath Ledger Joker, complete with painted white skin, knifed-open, bloody lips, and hallowed raccoon eyes - an identical, not quite African-American match to Ledger's character. The caption? "Socialism."

The poster surfaced within the past 48 hours in Los Angeles, CA, and Atlanta, GA. The posters have been pasted on concrete bridge supports atop old graffiti, perhaps a fitting location considering its subject.

Odds are the author is a Dark Knight fan (much like myself) who has been watching Obama's actions lately and is feeling the threat of socialism on the rise. Perhaps the author even voted for Obama, and is now feeling disillusioned by broken promises and socialist practices. Even better, the artist could be much like Huge Weaving's character, V, in V for Vendetta, making a statement about what could really be wrong with our nation in its current condition.

So is there any shred of truth to the Obama Joker Poster? Does President Obama really stand for socialism? Let's just say his actions so far as president haven't proven him to be much of a freedom fighter, that's for sure. But statements he's made in the past have proven him to be of the same cloth of many socialists.

How exactly has Obama exhibited socialist tendencies? Take his pet project, universal health care. According to WorldNetDaily and similar sources, socialists take on the belief that everyone has the right to health care. This same exact statement has been made by Obama, as well as statements involving the right of labor unions to organize without a secret ballot, and the "right" of adequate housing for everyone.

These are all essential "rights" according to the Socialist Party USA, which also claims that "capitalism is fundamentally incompatible" with socialism. No kidding. Capitalism in general is typically the enemy of power-mongering politicians, and like it or not, President Obama is just that.

Socialism loves to claim "equality" in many respects, but this "equality" comes at a price that favors the lazy, non-working class and penalizes hard workers, no matter if they are poor or rich. Socialism also calls for services to be provided by a centrally-owned body (a.k.a. the government in several different aspects), which is why governments want to crush capitalism. The more competition they have from the people, the less power and control they can exercise over the population. But outlaw the rights of businesses to provide certain services, and you all of a sudden create a monopoly, making the people dependent upon government.

As Karl Marx has stated, socialism is the transition between capitalism and communism. Obama's plan to "spread the wealth" and levy heavy taxes on the rich are just a part of what brings capitalism to an end. What our forefathers worked so hard to achieve in a bloody Revolutionary War over 200 years ago may soon be the anti-capitalism, government-controlled nation they worked so hard to destroy. Only time will tell how prophetic this Obama Joker Poster really is.

The only thing anyone really needs to know is that Rochelle Connery writes things that only Zippy the Pinhead thinks.

This where Libs are being short-sighted. If the govt offers an insurance plan, they can undercut costs of private insurers. Then everyone will eventually be on the public option. Your employer will want to save costs and move to it. Competiton lowers costs and momopolies increase costs. This public option insurance will be a monopoly. Count on it.
