Obama Justice Department Openly Endorses Identity Politics

Snidely Whiplash
Once again not happy with the status quo, and in a continuing effort to make it all equal in some totally bizarre way, the Obama DOJ has clarified their stance on dealing with schools systems and the problem of bullying with the following statement on their web site:

"The Civil Rights Division and the entire Justice Department are committed to ending bullying and harassment in schools" and use "the Department's authority to enforce federal laws that protect students from discrimination and harassment at school because of their race, national origin, disability, religion, and sex, including harassment based on nonconformity with gender stereotypes."

The article goes on to specify they will call on the authority of "enforcement of the Equal Protection Clause, Title IV of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972." Then comes the caveat...."DOJ will only investigate bullying cases if the victim is considered protected under the 1964 Civil Rights legislation." The Washington Times article's author Kerry Picket continues "In essence, only discrimination of the victim's race, color, religion, or sex will be considered by DOJ. The overweight straight white male who is verbally and/or physically harassed because of his size can consider himself invisible to the Justice Department."

Is this not the practice of identity politics? Is this not some bastardized version of Affirmative Action yet again? Picket goes on to present the dilemma of what of black male on black male bullying with his scenario "if a schoolyard bully is a straight black male and his target is another straight black male where does that leave the victim in the eyes of Attorney General Eric Holder? What about two female students of the same sexual orientation and race?"

After my pal Casey the Punisher's case in the news so much of late, where would Casey stand? Is he protected because he was overweight? Of course the "Casey" incident took place not in the US but in Australia, but the question stands. Isn't bullying still bullying even when both parties are the same race or sex? The Irish girl who killed herself last year due to constant bullying was the victim of fellow white teenage girls. Is she any less bullied or any less dead because her tormentors were also white teenage girls?

Again the Obama Administration has chosen to take the low road. Once more Attorney General Eric Holder demonstrates that indeed the practice of identity politics and identity protection under the law is clearly on display with the Obama DOJ. This is redistribution of law as well as wealth. Frankly the DOJ has a lot of nerve even mentioning the Equal Protection Clause - there's not too awful much equal about telling us as Orwell did, about some being more equal than others. Do these fools not see this is institutional discrimination?

Each day that passes is harder and harder to view as an independent and new day and instead seems more and more a part of the grand scheme being strictly adhered to. Not one to feel too awfully persecuted, but what can one make of this? How is this anything healing; any rifts being narrowed; any abrasions being soothed?

What amazes more than these events occurring is the knowledge that so many fools fell for all the sweet talk. Are my fellow citizens this naive? All one needed to do was to listen to Obama's words before he was a presidential candidate. He was clear he would "fundamentally transform" this nation and by golly, he's deep in doing it. I guess this puts to rest the false bravado of "well, it's okay...it's never happened here before, so don't worry," right? The reality is this administration and its antics are things this nation has never seen before.

The courts are filled with liberal judges, making their judgments accordingly. The left has the legal system, education, and the media all sewn up.

Hey, Whippy. I have an idea. How about holding the PARENTS responsible for their children's actions? Gee, can we do that?
