Obama: Key to the Future, or Destined to Fail

D. McCarthy
The election is over, yet the hardest part has just began.

U.S. President Barack Obama was seen as a savior to millions of voters, who helped him rise to the presidency. Yes we can, and Change you can believe in, were the cries from the American's who supported Obama. Indeed with the help of over $650 million, strong media support, and some of the best public relations teams ever assembled, he has taken the highest political position on earth. But the question remains, can this man lead us to greatness.

Running a campaign is never easy but that is only the begging, once elected the president has to be on call 24 hours a day. Making decisions that could effect the country let alone the world. Each decision rendered by a president has a ripple effect, a major mistake can send a nation into economic turmoil. Just like one smart call could send it to economic stability. A lot to lay on one man's shoulders.

Especially in these trying times, which ever way Obama looks, he is not in a win situation. Since Obama has negotiated a bailout for the automakers, an expenditure that could be $50 billion or more, he might have the airline industry asking for money to. In which case he will have to say no, and look foolish for picking one industry over another.

However if he doesn't bail the automakers, their unions will be extremely angry, because he owes them political favors, after they helped get him elected. Once again it proves my point that getting elected is only the begining. I can not tell you whether Obama has what it takes to be the leader of our world, only time will tell. But remember we elected him, so lets believe he can do it, cause if we doubt him, we doubt ourselves.
