Obama Lies Health Plan Tax Only for Rich, but Middle Class is Real Victim of Tax Raise

Marc Schenker
Obama lies that the health plan tax is only for the rich, but it's the middle class who is the real victim of a tax raise. When Obama shadily says that he only wants to tax "high-end" health insurance plans, "altruistically" to pay for uninsured Americans' coverage, what he really means is he wants to tax the middle class and their health insurance plans. However, you only will come to this realization if you weed your way through Obama's BS, which, in his defense, is pretty thick. What Obama deviously terms "high-end" health plans actually includes plans starting at merely $8500 for individuals!

Now, let me ask you, Does that really by any stretch of the imagination sound like it's even close to something resembling a "high-end" plan for the wealthy? Answer: NO! Of course not, but to Democrats, as we all know from their infamous machinations of past months and years, their definition of rich is always a moving target, continually getting lower and lower!

The basis of Obama's chicanery is the fact that contrary to popular belief, the majority of Americans with said high-end plans is actually made up of union workers and government workers, both of which hardly can be stigmatized as the "evil rich." Furthermore, because of the Obama-favored tax on high-end plans-which is in the Senate version of Obama's healthcare "reform" bill-middle-class workers may also get taxed more on their actual wages. Employers may very well start to reduce benefits they provide in order to offset any passed-on price increase from the tax. Then, as the middle-class workers start losing their benefits, a scenario that Obama economic adviser Romer outlined, they could actually see those replaced by more take-home wages, which are always taxed anyway.

So middle-class workers are in this plausible situation taxed in the first place just because they have high-end plans-and then they're punitively taxed at least a second time when their benefits deteriorate and they see that made up in take-home wages. Either way you cut it, it will be a tax raise on the middle class.

No matter how it's spun by Obama or his cronies in his party or his liberal apologists, his backing of the middle-class tax raise on health plans completely conflicts with his supposedly sincere promise never, ever to raise taxes on the middle class! In fact, audaciously, Obama was just months ago on George Stephanopoulos' show on which he specifically denied the very act of a middle-class tax raise to pay for his healthcare "reform!" The very middle-class tax raise he's now backing to pay for his absolute debacle and disaster known as Obamacare!

This is so worrisome for Obama that even members of his own Democrat Party-that's right, the same party of trillion-dollar deficits and pork as far as the eye can see-like Xavier Becerra, a California Democrat and member of the House leadership, oppose him at least at the time of this writing.

Perhaps one of the most eloquent explanations relating to how the middle class will be taxed thanks to the Obamacare bill belongs to Michele Bachmann. She cites several other problems with it and focuses on the tax raise, too.

One thing we know about Obama of the past versus Obama of the present is that he lies...a lot. We know because we can incriminatingly compare his statements now with whatever propaganda came out of his mouth in the past. And just on the small, isolated issue of healthcare alone, we can examine his record and tell that he's a complete liar when it comes to the issue of a tax raise on the middle class, which he claims is a tax only for the rich.

Every president ever elected made numerous promises that once elected, discovered was impossible to uphold. I find that whether you call yourself "democrat," "republican," or "independent," depending on who has been elected president, you immediately become divisive if you slam someone who is not of your political party, whether you believe in his politics or not. I also think that if we disagree with the politics and we know what the president is doing wrong, we have a moral obligation to provide the answers by contacting our senators, our representatives, and the president himself, and telling them that we know how to fix the problem. Then, instead of just complaining, we are providing solutions.
