Obama Makes Believe He Knows Foreign Policy

Obama Heads to the Middle East to Fill the Holes in His Resume

Garrett McCorkle
Barack Obama has been seen this week venturing into the Middle East as he works to build his credibility where foreign policy is concerned. This would be president of the United States has tried to let the world know that he has what it takes to lead the free world, but, many are still not convinced.

McCain too has been seen in the news as he is trying to steal the lime light form Obama. The Senator from Arizona recently took some jabs at Obama on his web site as he poked fun at all of the attention or "media Love" that Barack is receiving. Aside from getting in some good natured digs at Obama, McCain has been seen on the campaign trail. The Senator chose to visit the state of New Hampshire hoping to stir up a little love for his own campaign.

Needless to say the current jockeying for media presence is not going to end soon but many are beginning to wonder if the inexperienced, untested senator from Illinois is making a difference. Obama is doing his best to look involved in the Middle East. He seems to have put his religious problems behind him and some how he seems unscathed by the comments of Jessie Jackson however, the truth is harder to hide.

This Senator does have an impressive resume but he has fallen short of rounding it out with any executive experience or foreign policy work. Many don't think his lack of leadership or work with foreign nations is that big of a worry but others are concerned with putting a person lacking these qualifications in the highest office in the land.

Some politicians do hope that by putting a figure head like Obama in office that we may begin rebuilding our popularity around the world but are we counting on Obama's popularity too much?

The popularity of Obama and his campaign have been difficult to miss, but as this election gets tighter and tighter we are going to see his popularity put to the test.

Many claim Obamas presence and popularity in the world today is due to a call to change and a desire to have a new, fresh leader but I would suggest that this Senator has done so well because he is the perfect product for marketing.

Fast Company magazine calls Obama a brand name, they claim he is 'new, different and attractive." and if we were all advertising specialist we would realize that, new different and attractive are the perfect combinations for the next big thing.

The facts are that Obama has come along at the perfect time in history. He is just the character Simon Cowell would put on the stage as the next American Idol and American's are loving' it. One would hope that America would see the facts about the Senator and not be snowed by his current attempt to look involved but that does not appear to be the case.

Obama and McCain both have impressive resumes that make them qualified to do just about anything they want in this life, but, it remains to be seen if Obama is what this country needs.

Only time will tell if the current popularity contest ending in November will go to the Democrats but if the current marketing campaign seeking to put their product on the shelves of America has their way we will see the poster child for America as a Freshman Senator from Illinois.

Isn't having 300 foreign policy advisers enuff of a clue to the electorate that Obama is as clueless about foreign policy as I am about quantum physics? If it takes 300 advisers to establish his bona fides he's hopeless. And while this is a great article i must ask what about Obama's resume is "impressive?" He's a community organizer with only 3.5 years of national political experience, and from my understanding, MOST of that time in the Senate has been spent garnering support for his run for the Presidency. Hasn't Obama missed more votes than he's actually cast a ballot in? In fact, the moment i heard about Obama giving the keynote speech at the '04 Dem Conv., from the way the media talked about him it was 100% obvious he was grooming himself, and was being groomed by others to run in '08, and lo & behold, our Messiah Cometh! This whole thing was a poorly telegraphed effort to look like a popular support candidacy, but it was planned from day one. Hopefully the US ain't so gullible.
