Obama Makes Birther Joke at the National Prayer Breakfast; "Damien Omen II" He's Not

President Obama made a birther joke at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington on Thursday, according to the Yahoo! Buzz Log (with inserted YouTube video). The President Obama birther joke at the National Prayer Breakfast was made as a quip against those who don't think that he's an American citizen. The President Obama birther joke was a bit sharp, as he remarked, "You can question my policies without questioning my faith or for that matter, my citizenship", which got many laughs and handclaps from the attendees. How ridiculous is this controversy over where the Commander-in-Chief was born? How paranoid are the haters of this President who harp on such things?

President Obama Birther Joke at the National Prayer Breakfast: For Goodness Sake, He's Not "Damien Omen II"

I'm a fan of 1970s horror movies, especially The Omen and Damien Omen II. These movies tell, in kind of plausible fashion, how the Antichrist could come about. The little baby Damien is born of a jackal in Rome, and is secretly adopted by industrialist and soon-to-be Ambassador to the Court of St. James Robert Thorn (played brilliantly by Gregory Peck), after Thorn's own son is murdered by devil worshippers. This gives Damien the advantage of having a silver spoon in his mouth at birth so his rise to power will be so much easier, especially since the Thorn empire has massive land holdings for agriculture and the technology to solve the world's food problems, which the Antichrist is supposed to be able to do. 2 Thessalonians 2 of the Holy Bible states that he'll perform "counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders", which I've heard (when I was a child) preachers specifically state behind pulpits that this includes solving the world's famine problems.

Every time I hear these birthers go on, which is the reason for the Obama birther joke that he made at the National Prayer Breakfast, I think of those Omen movies. The birthers come across as people who actually believe that President Obama is so evil, maybe even the Antichrist himself, and will lead this country to utter destruction. So no matter what documentation or common sense has been provided or offered them, it's not enough. It's not enough because they are looking for any excuse they can to not acknowledge that this man won the Presidential election in 2008.

Do you actually think on August 4, 1961, there was a conspiracy of devilish folks who said something like this, "Hmmm...we need to make sure this little baby has American citizenship so he can take over the world circa the 21st century through the Presidency of the United States. Let's forge this, make up that, yada yada yada."

The Obama Birther Joke at the National Prayer Breakfast: A Good Jab

The President made an appropriate jab at the paranoid ultra right wing for sure. If President Obama is so sinister, would he attend the National Prayer Breakfast? Why would he go to Reverend Wright's Christian church all those years? The fictional Damien Thorn went ballistic at the sight of a church in The Omen.

Case closed on these birther movement claims.
