Obama May Not Be Wright, but Who is Wrong?

Is Obama's Association with Wright Significant?

Jeremiah Wright gave quite a performance today at the National Press Club. Sadly, the performance was more comical and a caricature than the speech of a sincere man of peace and redemption or even a thoughtful academic. Not only does Wright lack the eloquence and golden delivery of Obama but he is void of any semblance of serious philosophical stategy. Wright approaches arguments with the skill of a spoiled self-satisfied 9-year-old. Wright's attempt to call his bad press an attack not of him but of the American Black Church was the lamest of his kooky arguments. Only if one checked all intellect at the door could one accept the twisted logic this charlotan serves up. Supposedly 9-11 was when the U.S.'s chickens "came home to roost". The U.S. reaped what they sowed. This very same argument could be applied to all the ills that have befallen the black community. Did the black community bring their very slavery upon themselves? Reading between the lines of Wright's spewings, white America is all to blame for slavery yet the African slave trade was in existence far before the first Dutch trader came upon this phenomena. More absurd is the fact that Wright fails to point out the black slavery STILL occurring in Africa to this day. America outlawed slavery with Lincoln but Wright's own black bretheren still enslave other black brethern, the selling of black children occuring today to other black people with no condemnation from Brother Wright.

His embarrasing treatment of the post-speech moderator was a true insight into the mental workings of this mean-spirited, ego-centric, deep-down self-loathing two-bit bully. Talk about shooting the messenger!!!! For some bizarre reason, I can only surmise because the woman was white, Wright saw fit to attack and question her personally whenever she posed a question pre-submitted by some other audience member. While on his roll, Wright readily offered his personal criticism of Cheney and the U.S. Government as a whole all the while missing the plank sitting squarely in his own short-sighted eye. Not only did this man contradict his own statements several times in the 45 minutes he haphazardly spoke, he managed to do the work of the Republicans without them uttering a word by unabashedly admitting Obama was "distancing himself from Wright" because he (Obama) is a politcian and HAS to say such things to be elected. WHAT?!!! Wright's love of his own voice may be the most destructive display of narcissism since Britney Spears but on a much more national scale. So is Obama giving a wink and a nod to Wright (Obama's possible V.P. in the world according to Wright) OR is Obama using Wright to anchor himself to the black community?

Either answer to these questions do not paint Obama as the agent of "change" he so desperately wants us all to believe him to be. Is Obama's association with Wright significant to Obama as a presidential candidate? Though Obama's campaign wishes all of us to think "NO", Obama's prior clinging to Wright and public annointing Wright as his spiritual mentor, citing Wright's Audacity Of Hope sermon not only in the title of Obama's own book but the basis for Obama's own philosophy of life, makes Obama's playing dumb act seem more than problematic. To anyone still not in the honeymoon phase of Obama Enfatuation, the questioning of Obama's sincerity, truthfulness, real agenda is all a primary focus. Obama wants us all to stick to the "issues" but I'm sorry, Barack Obama can't have it both ways. Either he is the 20 year member of a chruch whose pastor delivered sermons that in and "out" of context breeds racial hatred to the same level of any Ku Klux Klan member ever did or he is the non-racial champion of all people's agenda that will make America great. Obama's connections to a man such as Jeremiah Wright renders the latter impossible. Obama supporters cry "guilt by association" is not legitimate however common sense tells me and every other non-partisan American voter that a person's friends and associates DO give a valid reflection of a person. Lying with dogs gives one fleas. I fear Obama needs more than a flea collar to rid himself of this infestation of bad vibes.

  • Are Wright's comments a reflection on Obama...
  • Or has Obama been using Wright simply for black votes?
Do "chickens coming home to roost" also apply to the others misfortune or only the USA's? Can Africa's woes be roosting chickens as well?
