This economy is not something President Obama had a hand in creating, but now that he has taken on the job as the most powerful politician in the free world he has agreed to battle the economy among other important issues facing the United States. But a weakened US economy is a security risk to the country, and that is what makes this crisis so urgent. A weak economy means that we are not as readily able to muster up the resources necessary to combat an enemy if one should decide to test the US government any time in the immediate future. Another attack like 9/11 could be a fatal blow to our economy that we may never recover from. America would no longer be the economic superpower we are used to being, and that opens the door for foreign investors to buy up our land and for foreign money to influence policy making in this country. The effects of a prolonged recession are very critical to avoid, and the president is taking measures to avoid that.
But no matter what President Obama does it will take time for any positive effects to take hold and cause improvement. The people of the world need to develop patience in this crisis, and the world also needs to learn to work together to bring this crisis to an end. The recent G20 summit that was held in England showed that the world understands the need to come together in this time of crisis, but there are still many barriers that prevent full cooperation. No matter what happens at an economic summit or at a congressional hearing, in the eyes of the citizens of the world it all falls back on Barack Obama.
The experts blasting the president's economic policies are helping to curtail any possible recovery those policies could cause. President Obama needs time to create growth in our economy, and as citizens of the United States it is up to us to give him that time. President Obama never promised recovery would be easy, he only promised that recovery is on the way. The world needs to find a way to work together in this time of economic crisis, and help to give President Obama and the other leaders of the world the time they need to create growth and end this deep recession.
