Obama News: Same Church, Different Person

One again, Barack Obama finds himself back in the news, due to another sermon at his church. This time a Catholic priest, Father Michael Pfleger, gave a sermon at Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, Illinois, in which he made fun of Hillary Clinton. Pfleger, a white Catholic priest and a friend of Rev. Wright, was invited to speak Sunday at Trinity. While the topic of race should not even need to be brought up, it is an important part of the story. Father Pfleger mocked Hillary Clinton for her tears in January prior to the New Hampshire primary.

He went on to say, that while some people thought the tears were all an act, he thinks they were authentic. He says he believes Hillary felt entitled to be the next president of the United States based on her being white and the wife of a former president.

Here is a little of what he said. "And then, out of nowhere, came 'Hey, I'm Barack Obama,' " "And [Clinton] said, 'Oh damn, where did you come from? I'm white! I'm entitled! There's a black man stealing my show!' "

While I am not thrilled with any of the candidates running, it is unfortunate that a candidate will not only be judged by what they are doing, but what others are doing around them. No one has control over anyone else. These people are acting on their own and drag Obama's name into it.

Obama responded on Thursday by saying, "As I have traveled this country, I've been impressed not by what divides us, but by all that that unites us."

"That is why I am deeply disappointed in Father Pfleger's divisive, backward-looking rhetoric, which doesn't reflect the country I see or the desire of people across America to come together in common cause."How many people will Barack Obama need to distance himself from before the whole election is over? These people are not doing him any favors.
