Obama: To Be or Not Be President, Clinton is the Question. And the Answer

ButlerReport
It was reported Thursday evening - August 21, 2008 - that Obama had picked his Vice President. As of writing he is remaining mum on his choice.

Many names have been bandied about. Only one matters and that is the aforementioned, and much ballyhooed Democratic king-maker, Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Joe Biden - a great Senator - has been lifted up as a strong contender and to many he is a natural choice. However Barack's popularity has taken a decidedly Southern turn as the Messiah effect has worn off. Even floating the trial balloons of Senator Biden et al out there has done nothing to buoy it. On the contrary.

Asking Hillary to be his Vice President is a wise - a mature - move. She's a strong, experienced woman, toughened by the exposure to Washington politics not only as a Senator but as an eight-year occupant of the White House. Senator Clinton carries a huge voting block and her addition could guarantee Democratic occupation of the White House for many, many, years to come - perhaps up to four terms.

Some are worried that we'll get new stories of wild Bill's antics but so what? The public is tired of him being used as political fodder. Perhaps the threat of a genital cuff will keep him in line.

Barack, if you're reading this, take heed.

The odds are stacked against you. The moment you mention anyone else's name other than Hillary's your campaign for President will be over. You can pack up and head back to Waikiki - save yourself and your family the aggravation and heart-ache that is certainly ahead. The media, world affairs and McCain's - as yet to be unleashed - publicity machine will bulldoze you out of the race to the White House.

Hillary is the price of fame.
