Obama Not Serious About Budget, Deficit Reduction or Oil Crisis

When it comes to budget cutting, deficit reduction and the skyrocketing price of oil our president is just plain out to lunch. Is he not aware of the seriousness of these issues? No, that can't be it. So what then to make of Democrat spokespersons of late saying "the debt is really no big deal?" What of their insisting that until entitlements are slashed nothing will do any good? Readers have heard Michael Moore in Wisconsin saying government isn't broke.

Clearly at this point the left is trying to paint Republican efforts at cutting budgets as mean spirited acts and nothing more. Funny in that during the election cycle the left was all chatter about budget cutting and deficit reduction, but now, as if on cue, with their DNC, Media Matters, Organizing for American, etc, talking points in hand, suddenly they are uniform in telling us this is Republican scare tactics. Only an idiot would repeat that.

I believe Democrats have decided to stall as much as possible on the budget, the deficit and oil prices. Think about it...add their words of late and their well known agenda items. They are all for getting us off of dirty fossil fuels. Democrats have never seen a dollar they didn't believe needed to be spent, nor a budget that didn't need to be raised no matter what. Who is it who screams bloody murder when Republican's try to merely cut the growth of budgets? The Democrat base is like a room full of hungry alligators...keep 'em fed and stay out of their way and no one will get hurt.

Obama has shown he has no intention of actually leading in any effort at serious budget balancing. Forget that every budget his White House has cried for has the biggest deficits in human history, and by massive amounts too, so not some small, incremental leap, but an explosion of deficit spending. Forget that he plays lip service to high fuel prices by mulling over the strategic petroleum reserve as if releasing any of it would impact prices more than a nickel or a dime...it's a feel good measure - something the left is exceedingly good at, but actual measures that would alleviate budgetary shortfalls, not so much.

I am truly left to conclude something else is afoot. He told us in his community organizing days that government was the source of all wealth...or at least government confiscation of public monies was the source of wealth. He told us we need to spread it around. All one needs to do to understand what Obama is doing is look at the litany of ancient leftist desires.

Barack Obama is holding to the playbook straight down the line. But oddly when he looks at the camera and tells us we need to get serious about fiscal responsibility, somehow useful idiots still believe him despite the fact that in two years the only he seems serious about is lowering America's esteem in the world.

When one fairly examines the worldwide leftist agenda it is as plain as the nose on your face...spend until the dollar is devalued in an effort to redistribute our wealth by depreciation of the American dollar. If I'm wrong, how does a Columbia and Harvard educated man; the smartest most nuanced man to ever live, get it so wrong? He is so out of kilter and off balance on what common sense dictates would be wise and effective budgetary and energy policies.

And even if Obama were the dumbest SOB to ever suck wind, and he may yet be, surely his advisers are Democrats, lefties and the lot and they are always telling we hoi polloi how smart they are, so what's up? If lefties are so damned brilliant, how can they be flummoxed by not grasping simple solutions? Common sense solutions?

CUT THE BUDGET drastically! In time that will reduce the national debt as well. And DRILL BABY, DRILL! It's not rocket science! Or is knocking America down a peg or two their real goal?
