Obama the Only Presidential Candidate to Promote Live Earth Concert

TOMBARI BONKOO
The wind speeds between Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and former vice president Al Gore are fast becoming a powerful block in the campaign to save Mother Earth.

Obama is the only presidential candidate to launch "Live Earth" concert on his official website. One of the notable points is that the logo of the "Live Earth" event slated for 07-07-07 is a resemblance of Obama's official campaign logo.

On the campaign website, Sen. Obama wrote, " The organizers of Live Earth should be proud of their achievement. 7.7.07 is likely to be one of the most significant days of action in the campaign against global climate change. It could not come at a more important time. Our dependence on fuels such as oil and coal is jeopardizing our planet, setting off a chain of dangerous weather patterns that could condemn future generations to global catastrophe," he went further, " We can do better. As president, I will move to limit the causes of global warming by requiring that all transportation fuels sold in the U.S. contain 10 percent less carbon by 2020."

In a web video posted on the homepage, the senator praised the former vice president for leading in the movement to change the debate on global warming, and maintaining that he will lead in mobilizing a united front in congress and around the country in combating the climate problem around the world.

Reechoing his team of uniting people to solve problem, the senator congratulated the organizer of the concert, especially Al Gore. He maintained that it is time to end the fear tactic often employed by politicians not to speak the truth to auto and oil industries in the country to do their share in averting more damage to the planet earth.

Few months ago, he went to Detroit and speaks in a clear tune to the auto industry that they have a part to play in the effort to protect the planet. Many of his rivals only speak about global warming in California--a state that does not have any great significant control over future climate problem--rather than Detroit where the auto companies are located.

He called on all his supporters across the country to participate in Live Earth concert, and that they should sign up for the event on his webpage. Surprisingly, Obama is the only presidential candidate from both parties to official endorse the concert and calling on voters across the country to partake in the event.

Earlier today, former vice president Al Gore emailed his supporters that he will be hosting the event from Washington D.C. Recently, Republican senators who are opposed to the Al Gore measure, mounted a serious confrontation to stymied Mr. Al Gore from conducting the concert around the Capitol. Until last night, it was certain that the event will not be held in Washington D.C. But in the email, Al Gore pointed out that the concert will be held in D.C and it will start around 10:30am.

I did share the reason, but my comment got deleted by Premiere Bonkoo for suggesting that Yusuf Islam suppots terror (i.e. funding Hamas) and that the Live Earth Concert is, by global warming science, not eco friendly (it isn't). Ah well, can't expect everyone here to be reasonable.

I wonder why Chadd Las Casas did not share the reason with us. What I know about the Senator from reading his book, he is knowledgeable about earth, knows what is being done in other countries that has been lacking in ours to make for a more "green" planet. I would think that is why he supported the Live Earth concert. Some suggested that the concert itself is not environmentally friendly. So do not know if endorsing it is a plus or minus.

There's a reason Obama is the only presidential candidate to promote Live Earth.
