Oprah Offers Free Will.I.Am America Song Download & Starbucks Offers Free Cup Of Coffee

This isn't the first time Oprah has offered a free music download or Starbucks has offered free coffee in the name of political good. Starbucks last gave away free coffee on voting day and around Christmas time, Oprah generously gave a free Christmas music CD for 48 hours. But I think Oprah's team learned a valuable lesson from that free music download because they didn't offer a specific cut-off time for the download just saying "48 hours" and many disappointed fans were confused in different time zones and when the show was rebroadcast as to when the offer actually expired. So this time around Oprah's website very specifically indicates the Will.I.Am & Faith Hill, David Foster composition of "America's Song" is offered for free for 24 hours until Thursday, January 21st, 2009 until 10 pm ET or 9 pm CT. Click here to get you free Oprah music download of America's Song.

Oprah Announces Starbucks Free Coffee Offer on Post Inauguration Show

I just heard about this free Starbucks coffee offer on Oprah's post-inauguration show. If you catch a clip of Oprah's show on Youtube, be sure to look for one where George Stephanopolos' wife Ali Wentworth is reporting from a Dupont Circle Starbucks in D.C. She's so adorably cute as she not only tells Oprah and us about the free Starbucks Coffee offer, but she also shares a story about how she treks her kids down to the Mall and how George who is working all day on air calls her after the First Lady Michelle Obama and President Barack Obama take their first dance and they both got all teary eyed.

Starbucks & Oprah Join Call for National Service and Asks, "Are You In?"

What Ali relayed on the Oprah show is that you can score a free coffee from Starbucks from Wednesday, January 21st through Sunday, January 25, 2009. All you have to do for your free cup of Starbucks coffee is to make an "I'm In" pledge. Starbucks has set up displays featuring community pledge cards. You just commit to "pledge five" meaning if you are willng to volunteer just five hours of time. There's a sticker on each Starbucks "I'm In" pledge card, and to get your free Starbucks coffee, just like an "I voted" sticker, you take the sticker from your pledge card and put it on your lapel. Starbucks will give you a free tall cup of brewed coffee.

"I'm In" For More than Just My Free Starbucks Cup of Coffee & Free Will.I.Am Download From Oprah

I ended up going down to see the inauguration. Here's some photos. I was so moved by the President and his call for service. I just saw a video put together by Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher on "The Presidential Pledge" encouraging people to answer the call with "I Pledge" that today I decided to make my volunteer hours doing what I do best, writing for the Internet to not only get my free cup of Starbucks coffee but to also raise funds by writing for Squidoo which has a built in mechanism for raising funds. I posted my pledge here. Starbucks has also provided an additional way to record your pledge hours online at pledge5.starbucks.com. My hope is beyond the free cup of coffee and free music that people across America and other countries will be inspired by Obama's call to service.
