Obama Orders Justice Department to Move 9/11 Trial

Could it be that President Barack Obama is finally beginning to pay attention to "the people?" According to the New York Daily News, after much protest and hay, President Obama has ordered the Justice Department to move the trial of 9/11 bombing mastermind, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed out of New York City. But, to where, has yet to be determined.

Since announcing the trial would be in New York, the entire nation, particularly New Yorkers, has been dumbfounded at what appears to be some kind of political statement being made by President Obama and his Attorney General, Eric Holder.

It seems that President Obama, et. al., felt that 9/11 terrorist, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, was entitled to the same rights that American citizens are entitled to when accused of a crime, such as, the right to an attorney, the right to remain silent and the right to a fair and speedy trial, among others.

The only problem with that though, is that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is not an American citizen. It's been this tiny technicality that has so many Americans scratching their heads. Because, you see, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was born in Kuwait, which, by my estimations would make him a citizen of Kuwait.

And as far as I know, we don't we have some kind of "Gold Pass" agreement with Kuwait that says if you are a citizen there, you also gain full rights as an American citizen. But, I could be wrong.

Sometime after his birth in Kuwait, Khalid moved to Pakistan, where he spent most of his life. Though he did come here - the land of the great Satan - for a brief period during the 1980's, as many Middle Eastern men do, to frequent strip clubs, sleep with American women, drink American beer and generally indulge in other sins of the flesh to study engineering at a North Carolina University.

Disgusted with our 'debauched and racist country" and particularly our policy toward Israel, Khalid returned to the Middle East to learn how to be a proper terrorist by joining Al-Qaeda. It was in Pakistan, in 2003, during war time, that he was captured by both Pakistani and US military forces and held in a secret prison as an enemy combatant.

In 2006, Khalid was transferred to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba where he continued to be held as an enemy combatant, and remained until December 2008, at which time he confessed (though some say under duress from torture) to masterminding the 9/11 attacks that killed thousands of actual American citizens.

So, why then, would the President of the United States and his Justice Department make a decision to give a non-American citizen, enemy combatant, captured during war time on the battle field, full rights as an American citizen and then move the trail to the exact place they committed horrific atrocities against the actual citizens of America?

To date, neither President Obama nor any of his administration has explained their rationale whatsoever. But, given President Obama's track record in office thus far, I suppose it shouldn't be too shocking.

After campaigning for what felt like twenty years, as a moderate, centrist, packing some serious cool, President Obama declared he would lead us all the way to the Promised Land, if we would just lay the anointed mantle (Thank ye, Jesus) upon his shoulders and vote for him. Many did. I didn't. But, whatever.

Since his anointing election, President Obama has hit the ground running with an aggressive agenda that has included massive government spending like we have never seen in the history of these United States, all under the guise of "stimulating" the economy.

Most of America watched slack-jawed as President Obama poured billions upon billions of dollars into the banking industry, the mortgage lending industry, the automobile industry (which, by the way, in case you haven't noticed, hasn't exactly been a roaring success) and then cut multi-million dollar deals with labor unions, legislators, Senators and God knows, who all else, in efforts to overhaul a health care system that most have said they weren't unhappy with in the first place.

If that weren't enough to make you want to slap your momma, ultra cool Barry-O bowed to Saudi Kings and Japanese Emperors and even embarked on a Global Apology Tour where he told the world, in a most eloquent fashion of course, that "we've been a bad little nation, but we promise we'll be good now."

And what did we get for buying into this "hope and change we could believe in?" A deepening recession, sky-rocketing unemployment, small business running for the hills out of fear of higher taxes to support his absurd national health care agenda and a band of happy, self-professed, Mao loving Communists and Socialists quietly tip-toeing into the back door of the White House administration.

One can only presume then, that a backlash would soon be forthcoming from one very frustrated and weary electorate, who frankly, can only take so much of this "hope and change" before they begin to push back.

The first smoke signal came when Virginia Democrat Governor R. Deeds lost his re-election bid to Republican Robert McDonnell. The next came when New Jersey Republican, Chris Christie, was elected by a predominantly Democrat electorate, to replace Democrat Jon Corzine as the first Republican Governor in New Jersey in 12 years.

Though the Democrats were disappointed in their losses in Virginia and New Jersey, they certainly didn't expect Massachusetts, a state so blue she almost weeps, to hand them the death blow.

In a special election to fill the Senate seat held by the "Liberal Lion", Ted Kennedy, for 47 years before he died, the Independent voters (the very ones who gave Obama his victory) kicked Democrat Martha Coakley to the curb and installed the folksy (and seriously hot) Republican, Scott Brown, to the post instead.

By this time, President Obama and the band of merry Socialists were scrambling to rewrite his State of the Union address and sending out the insufferable Robert Gibbs, to do some serious damage control.

In fact, President Obama himself did a few rounds of press in an effort to assure American that he had "heard the message". Ahem. Really.

Then, after one very long winded State of the Union address in which President Obama sent the message he was still the "Sultan of Cool", it was reported that the trial of Khalid Sheik Mohammad would be moved. To date, an alternate venue has not been determined, but the rumor mill has it, he will be executed anyway.

To which I say, save the money, take the guy behind the White House and hand him a blind fold. And to the President, I say, "Can you hear us?" "Can you hear us now?"
