Obama Rating Hits an All-Time Low

Mary Thatcher
This does not necessarily have anything to do with the infamous bank bailout with tax dollars (as if the American taxpayers are going to forget that anytime soon), or the Iraq war, or the Afghanistan war, for that matter. In fact, it really has nothing to do with any of the above, and yet a combination of the above and the economy, which continues to remain in a recession. If anything, Citigroup and the Bank of America should be out of business right now had Obama not stepped in to rescue the wealthy institutions. That extensive list of failed banks available through the FDIC should include these banks right now but they do not. Not that my heart would break or anything if they did go out of business; such institutions operated by financial greed deserve to be put to sleep once and for all. Bailing out banks in financial crises is nowhere in the Constitution. Banks aside, our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq should be home by now, and they are not. Our mission in those two nations is pretty much finished, since we will never be able to find Bin Ladin, who is most likely hiding in a cave somewhere by the Khmer Passage. Then there is the extreme danger of Obama's plan to dispose of the Constitution and transform the United States into a socialist nation. Of course, he would not be able to do that without raising taxes, and if he were to do that now, the American public would be in a major uproar. No, Obama is anything but popular right now with the American public. He has not done too much to help stimulate the economy (sorry Obama, but stimulating the economy does not come about as the result of giving banks substantial bailout money so they can pay their big wheels outrageous bonuses with taxpayer dollars) in the way that Franklin Delano Roosevelt did, who actually created jobs for people when he took office.

So what is Obama to do? That tea party is looking better all the time, allowing the Republicans to be more engaging and enthusiastic. Moreover, the latest polls also reveal the lack of Democratic voting enthusiasm and political activity, which really is not surprising at this point of the presidency. Obama has been president for two years now and neither the economy nor the overseas wars (which are all but done now) has improved. Deployed troops want to come home. We should just let the existing factions in Iraq and Afghanistan have it out with each other. It appears that Obama's advisors do not have a clue how to handle the present state of affairs at home or overseas. Hopefully something will change that will improve soon, and before the next presidential election.
