Obama Shows Chip on His Shoulder to Baier and World

The Interview that Wasn't

Sherry Tomfeld
The President of the United States "allows" an interview with Brett Baier on Fox News. With the huge and important vote nearing, I was hoping to see a different Obama. The same arrogant and rude fellow showed up for the interview. It's bad enough for Americans to see this kind of attitude from a sitting U.S. President. But unfortunately the world sees these actions of Obama as well. Obama did himself, his healthcare bill and Americans no favor last night. Obama showed up with a chip on his shoulder as big as the cost of his healthcare bill.

I think people tuned in to hear Obama explain and answer questions that Baier posed to him about healthcare. If so, they were sorely disappointed and the whole interview was for nothing. Obama is a master at evasion and proved so during the interview. When Baier asked a question, Obama would not give him a simple explanation. Obama started for the back 40 and never did get around to direct, short and simple answers.

I had to stop the interview when my phone rang. I had to laugh. It caught Obama in a frozen, nasty scowl. It was when I hit the play button that I realized that Obama had this expression on his face for the majority of his interview with Baier. Why? The chip on Obama's shoulder was apparent from the beginning. It was as if Obama had a goal of "toying" with Baier. Games. Games at a time when America is tipping between rising above and digging out or falling and going under.

What drives a man to act this way in office? I don't know. I know I hoped Obama would put country first and ego and agenda second. I hoped Obama would listen to the people. It is apparent that he thinks Americans are fools. Obama's treatment of others would be demonized had it been done by Bush or Clinton. But the media lets Obama slide like a parent lets a spoiled kid grab another sucker at dinnertime. No rules for Obama.

I tuned into the interview between Baier and Obama to learn something. Well, I guess the world and I learned something. As long as Obama is wearing this chip on his shoulder, it's Obama's way or the highway. Nice try Baier, I wish Obama would have answered even half of your interview questions.

This interview was so uncomfortable to watch. To watch Obama get huffy, and talk over Baier who had to keep talking to finish his question -- and nobody learned nuttin'. and it didn't seem very presidential. And the interesting thing is -- if this health care bill does not include taxpayer funded abortions, why isn't Planned Parenthood up in arms? Instead I gather they're elated anticipating a huge increase in abortions. Let's do some research and find out what has happened to other cultures who sacrificed their young to idols -- in this case, the gods of convenience and greed.

I just hate the evasivness of politicians in general to answer direct questions. There indiciveness makes me think that their answer is either no or I don't know, but just PLEASE answer the question, for once. You're spot on with this Sherry.

Great article. In all honesty can any one really say he has ever said anything, answered anything, or did anything? Really? (And he got a Nobel!?) The real shame is the mass' couldnt see the PR hustle until after. After 2 bush elections then the last one I left for a while.

I had just looked at the internet clip of the "interview" before I read your article. Your analysis is right-Obama did not answer any of the questions Baier posed-probably because there were some really good ones and he had no good answers. I actually thought the interview accomplished a lot. It confirmed that this is not the bill that we need.

I wish I saw this interview, but I will look around for it online! I did not vote for Obama, but my daughter did and she said over the weekend that she is disappointed in him after having some pretty high expectations!

I didn't see the interview it either.

Not only did Obama prove he's an arrogant narcissist, he proved that he doesn't even know what's in the bill or what bribes are in or out. Baier would ask a question and Obama would just say what he wanted and never answered the original question. He admitted that he doesn't pay attention to procedures that's happening in Congress. The American voters are paying attention and will show it in November.

Sounds like I didn't miss much. I'll have to google some sound bytes.
