Amid tight security in Cairo Obama speech will be aimed in search to cure the wide fissure between America and Islam. After 9/11 the rift between America and Islam increased in Bush era.
Now the situation has been changed Barack Hussein Obama though a Christian has an Islamic family roots in Kenya and he has opportunity to grow as a young lad in Indonesia which has the largest population of Muslims.
Therefore Obama's speech in Cairo will seek to reach out 1.5 billion Muslims and Arabs in the much anticipated Obama speech in Egypt, which is expected to improve America's shabby image in the Muslim nations and Middle East.
Time in Cairo is very well thought of but has produced negative reactions.
Al - Qaeda reactions
Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden reactions on Obama Cairo speech shown in his new audiotape on Wednesday, accusing him of "antagonizing Muslims" and having "sowed new seeds of hatred against America." This was because of on going war against Taliban at Swat valley.
Local people's reaction
Since security had to be tighten near the venue of Obama speech, schools, business establishments and traffic has to be totally closed and local residents were asked not to come out of their houses. Local business community is extremely unhappy. They say it is unfair and shameful; Obama speech in Cairo will bring nothing in improving of livelihood. They further reacted by saying the amount of money spend on security if instead used to give food would have been much better.
Students reacted as their examination were with held, they say the amount of money spend on painting the rails, cleaning of payments etc is just a waste.
Obama speech in Cairo on social networks
Obama's speech will be published on all the social networks such as Twitter, Myspace, and Facebook as to bring good impact on his speech.
Option poll
An option poll showed 67% of Egyptians believe the United States plays an unconstructive role in the world and 76 percent believe Washington is out to deteriorate and break up the Islamic world.
Therefore in my option what ever is the Islamic nation reaction, time of obama speech in Cairo is an excellent step towards bridging the gap and it is just a step towards reducing the tension and hatred towards America.

Post a CommentWow - very good insight into how the local people felt about Obama's speech! Thanks.
I totally agree with your assessment jayanti...having already heard and read reporting on the speech, I believe it was a giant step in the right direction. Good reporting!
Good reporting here. I feel Obama is trying to bridge the gap. He also mentioned in his speech there are 1200 Muslim temples in America. I think that's important for Muslims across the world to know. Peace means all of us live together in harmony. War isn't the answer to bring about peace.
Ouch, the statistics aren't very hopeful, excellent article :) Sheri
