We need the next president to be able to answer a question they are asked. How many times have you seen McCain be asked a question to which he never gives the answer to, but rather just rambles on and on about a topic that might be related to something that was asked in the question. This, to me, shows incompetence.
We need the next president to have the ability to make sound decisions. McCain's choice of vice president as opposed to Obama's shows a lot about the decision-making abilities of the two presidential candidates, but this is a whole another topic. If this decision foreshadows anything, then I think it is safe to say Obama makes better decisions.
I feel that many of the decisions that Bush has made over the past 8 years have not been very sound. McCain has said he is not Bush and things will change if he is the next leader, but in an advertisement, we see McCain claiming he agreed with over 90% of Bush's decisions. The fact that McCain agrees with Bush over 90% of the time is not important. What is important is that he contradicts himself when he says things will change if he is the next leader. Using the logic that McCain himself has given us, we CAN expect a change. However, this change will be only a 10% change at most. Things are at least 90% likely to continue in the trend they are continuing. This is what McCain is really saying, and that doesn't sound like real change to me.
Competence will trump experience every time. You can have a gravedigger who has 40 years of experience digging a grave using a spoon. And you can have a gravedigger who only has 1 year of experience digging a grave using a shovel. If I were to hire one of them to dig a grave, I would hire the one that only had 1 year of experience. McCain's experience doesn't mean much if it doesn't bring our country anywhere close to what it was during the days of the Clinton administration.
We cannot afford to have another incompetent president. We don't need another clown leading this country.
