Obama Vs. McCain Election Day

Jason Ward
Presidential candidates Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. John McCain slug it out today in what people are calling the most historic U.S. election every and by the end of the day we will know who holds the future of our country in their hands.

My personal preference of course is John McCain but I would be just as happy if Barack Obama clinched so that is why I have decided to not vote and instead just sit back and let the best man win.

To be honest Bush sort of put the country through one hell of a bad spell so I think that whoever wins today will be better then him if at least for the fact that they saw where he went wrong and what he did that wasn't wise to aid them in becoming everything he wasn't.

Barack Obama who's father is Kenyan, and who was born in Hawai is a favorite to win according to the polls but there is still a small margin of hope left for McCain a former soldier and POW in the Vietnam War.

This country is going to need alot of work, time and effort put in by whichever party wins as the future of our country is looking bleaker and bleaker, what with the economic situation and loss of jobs and so on the tasks for the next president will not be a walk in the park.

(An Excerpt of a speech John McCain made, take from the www.johnmccain.com website.)

In such a world, where power of all kinds is more widely and evenly distributed, the United States cannot lead by virtue of its power alone. We must be strong politically, economically, and militarily. But we must also lead by attracting others to our cause, by demonstrating once again the virtues of freedom and democracy, by defending the rules of international civilized society and by creating the new international institutions necessary to advance the peace and freedoms we cherish. Perhaps above all, leadership in today's world means accepting and fulfilling our responsibilities as a great nation.
