Obama Wins Oregon

Obama wins Oregon State

It was expected that Oregon would follow Washington and Obama would win over Clinton. In a recent study taken before the primary in Portland Oregon, it showed that Obama would win easily. You don't really even have to look at the Democratic side in order to find Oregon in favor of Obama. Oregon, a state that believes Richard Nixon left of the current Democratic Party, and Clinton who appears to be a spin off her husband, in which many feel the policies are too close to the republican ideologies.

The level of trust that the public has toward Hillary certainly hurt her; "people just don't believe she is telling the truth" one person stated.

Obama brings serious changes that differ from the current Bush administration, and it appears apparent that Hillary remains in between the both of them. Maybe the answer to why Obama will win Oregon can be summed up by the republican voters, in which they appear to be terrified of Obama's ideas and although they don't like Clinton, they are not terrified of her.

Portland, which holds the majority of votes in the State, was the deciding factor in the race. Obama spoke in Portland on May 9th, many people got the message that he felt not only had he won Oregon, but also the Democrat Candidacy, and he might be right, Hillary's visit on 05/16/2008 was uneventful, once again working around many of the issues at hand, just another factor of why Oregon voted for Obama.
