Many of us have seen, ad nauseam, videos of the reverend Dr. Wright's ranting. I will spare you a re-play and include a link that you can activate at your convenience. To view the hateful, unholy, and anti-American drivel click here: Obama's Advisor
ABC News reported that Obama's church was selling DVDs of Pastor Wright's sermons. The folks can buy these DVDs featuring the now retired pastor and keep them for posterity and/or inspiration. I shudder at the thought of inspiring young minds with such hateful rhetoric. Under ordinary circumstances, this news story wouldn't be a news story but this is not ordinary circumstances. What makes this extraordinary is not hateful oratory from a black preacher man, however shameful. No, this is extraordinary and important because it gives us additional clues into who Barack Obama is. It serves as an indicator of Obama's judgment and character, attributes that should be very important to the American voter.
Barack Obama gave a very eloquent speech. I stop short at courageous as many pundits have described it. There was nothing courageous about it. It was merely political expedience delivered by a gifted and talented lecturer.
Barack Obama took nearly a week to respond to his advisors hate speech, there is nothing courageous about that. Especially from a man that quickly demanded the firing of Don Imus for spewing racist shocking words to a predominately adult audience and while in the capacity of a Shock Jock. Obama was concerned about the impact a shock jock may have on his two daughters, and further claimed "I understand MSNBC has suspended Mr. Imus," Obama told ABC News, "but I would also say that there's nobody on my staff who would still be working for me if they made a comment like that about anybody of any ethnic group. And I would hope that NBC ends up having that same attitude."[1]
Let's directly address Obama for a minute: After Jeremiah Wright's hate speech you hired him to work as a member of your staff. How can you worry about Don Imus' impact on your daughters' self-esteem, and yet allow them to be indoctrinated by hate and bigotry? Let's not forget the preacher man gyrating moves simulating a sex act while in the pulpit, no less. Let's not forget the blasphemy by the preacher man by crying for God to damn America. What kind of impact do those events have on the children of TUCC? How can you, during an eloquent speech that took a week to prepare, throw your daughters great-grandmother under the bus and imply to the world that their great-grandmother was a racist? That my naïve friend is more damaging to your girls' esteem than Don Imus' shocking performance while employed as a shock jock.
Please folks don't equate eloquent speech with meritorious intent. Barack Obama failed to deliver hope, promise, or change. Instead, he is selling the same old con that we are accustomed to witnessing by the likes of race arsonists. The difference is we aren't used to seeing it delivered from such a gifted and talented orator. If you buy into the notion that Obama wasn't aware of his advisors beliefs, what does that say about the judgment of this presidential candidate? After 20-years, he wasn't aware of the landscape of TUCC. If you wish to buy that, then you must at least admit Obama is extremely naïve. The alternative is Obama was indeed fine with Wright's positions and theology. Either scenario isn't representative of an individual ready for the presidency.
While Obama was equating his grandmother to his hateful reverend, he failed to mention to you that Jesse Jackson mirrored his grandmother's fears [2]. What Obama failed to focus on during his race speech was a realistic path to adequate change and an honest examination of the problems plaguing the black community. While Obama denounced Wright's incendiary remarks, he attempted to justify them by acknowledging the race issues past and present of this currently great nation. The context of explaining the hate speech of his advisor in a conciliatory tone suggests white racism and/or America is the prevalent problem. This is what race arsonists, such as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, make a living on. This advancement will continue to perpetuate the racial divide, not unite all of America.
Note the wisdom of the prominent Dr. Walter Williams, a black American writing from that viewpoint; "At one time black Americans did not have the constitutional guarantees enjoyed by white Americans; now we do. The fact that the civil rights struggle is over and won does not mean that there are not major problems confronting many members of the black community but they are not civil rights problems and have little or nothing to do with racial discrimination.
While not every single vestige of racial discrimination has disappeared, Obama and the Rev. Wright are absolutely wrong in suggesting that racial discrimination is anywhere near the major problem confronting a large segment of the black community. The major problems are family breakdown, illegitimacy, fraudulent education and a high rate of criminality, NOT white racism. To confront these problems, that are not the fault of the larger society, requires political courage and that's an attribute that Obama and most other politicians lack."[3]
Barack Obama is selling the same old crippling notions as Jeremiah Wright, just not in the same firebrand manner. Louis Farrakhan, a friend of Wright and recipient of a life time achievement award from Obama's church, noted that Obama has been "groomed wisely"
The story of Obama's church honoring the Nation of Islam Leader first broke January 08 and published on AC, that story can be found here: Obama's Church Honors Farrakhan.
During the same 2007 award ceremony honoring Farrakhan, Obama's Church also honored America's first "Hip-Hop Mayor" Kwame Kilpatrick recognizing him as a social giant. The moniker "Hip-Hop Mayor" was first dubbed by Russell Simmons and was used to describe Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick. [4]
You can still be objective enough to reject the "guilt by association" designation and still detect a foul odor. Just because you hang out with trash doesn't make you garbage, but after awhile you will start to stink. Obama are you listening?
It is also notable that Jeremiah Wright and Louis Farrakhan were companions during a 1984 trip to visit Muammar Qaddafi in Libya. It was shortly after this trip that Barack Obama embraced the Reverend Dr. Jeremiah Wright and his teachings of Black Liberation Theology.
While we are deciding to buy the notion that Obama was conveniently absent during the Rev's hate preach, let's learn about the teachings that the illustrious presidential candidate has in fact embraced and found worthy to baptize his family in.
The Reverend Jeremiah Wright in attempts to educate those not familiar with his teachings or theology has scolded and invited us to read and learn about James Cone [5], the architect of Obama's religion and the Black Value System.
James Hal Cone, the father of Black Liberation Theology has been criticized for his many controversial beliefs. This pearl of wisdom by Mr. Cone was discovered:
"Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community. Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love."[6]
Commenting on Obama's presidential candidacy, Cone traced a direct line from Martin Luther King Jr. (through Wright) to Barack Obama: in 1964, King significantly referenced audacity and hope. Cone told Newsweek that in Obama's rhetoric "the fierce urgency of now comes from his church."[6]
Is there anything authentic about Barack Obama? How many instances of plagiarism are we to accept before we admit that Obama may not be the man of integrity that his supporters seem to so desperately desire? How many instances of hateful and subversive ties do we have to discover before we admit the he is not the one?
To accept Obama's assertion that he wasn't aware of Wright's hateful positions will require a "willing suspension of disbelief." That's an old line made famous by Hillary Clinton. If you are still willing to buy at Obama's Church Sale, I have another old and memorable proposition for you; there is a wonderful bridge in Brooklyn for sale.

Post a CommentVery well written and researched. I love Dr. Walter Williams, what a scholar. Great article.
Interesting read!
I'm really tired of the proponents that claim that blacks are incredibly descriminated against. The black male received the right to vote long before the white woman. Black men have risen to the top of corporations and even have funds and government backing to do so. Women are still pushing against the glass ceiling. The fact that we have the first black candidate for president says something. The woman, Sarah Palin is just the candidate for VP, and still criticized. (I had a "liberal" express the fact that she should stay home with her kids!) Racism and sexism exist, you can't legislate belief, but you also don't fight it by creating more in return. Great article Tony.
I enjoyed reading this. I'm a staunch conservative, but (as always) enjoy watching the conventions of both parties. It's a measure of how much I fear Obama that I've found myself LIKING Hillary more the past 6 months. I can become panicky thinking of our nation's finances and healthcare if he is elected.
Brad, thanks for stopping by. Racism and evil will never end in America or any country. Fallible men & institutions are in charge, and if we want perfection we must look to a Higher Power. America, however, represents and champions what is great about humanity and Freedom. We are indeed a Free nation enjoyed by Free men & women. There will always be room for improvement. It is those dark spots that the Marxists, and the racial-arsonists, and the subversive operatives seize upon and exploit for selfish gains. To become unduly enriched by societal ills is shameful, whether it is for monetary gains or a selfish grab for power it is wrong and runs against what this great nation represents.
Wll argued points, but I disagree. As long as there are substantial and systemic differences in the way people are treated solely because of the color of their skin, then we as a society have work to do in order to correct the problem. Getting approval for a home loan or getting the best available interest rate should not be based on one's color, but study after study show that when all credit factors are equal, banks and financial institutions treat black and white applicants differently. There are many other remaining instituional biases left-over in the system that need to be corrected before we can honestly say racism is conquered in America. It is perpetuated by both blacks and whites and it must end fi this country is to be as strong as it can be.
OMG, I came here from your other article about Michelle Obama( good show Btw) I cant believe (Sham)ontiel's comments..well i can believe it...actually they are quite transparent...Please Tony keep up the good work..and don't let the haters discourage you.
Tony, this was very well done on your part. I hesitate to mention this, but the hottest video on YouTube is called "Unholy Trinity" and I don't know how this pastor "knows" this, but boy, I think the fight is about to get bloody!
A most excellent and thorough article.
Andrew is right. Reaching into the future takes more courage and intelligence than clinging stubbornly to the injuries of the past. We can't change the past, but we can improve the future if people will work together to make it happen. Recrimination and accusals do nothing but to further widen the gap between the races.
