Obama's Energy Agenda Killing Economic Recovery

As oil hovers in the $100.00 a barrel range we have a president out chattering about how we will fix this if we use green energy. He is all talk and absolutely zero delivery and his failure to actually do something short of gum flapping is harming our economic recovery and severely harming any future ability for the US to be competitive and independent.

When we as a nation pay astronomically high prices for energy our bottom line is effected. The cost of business is one of the major operating expenses of business and when fuel doubles in price every single thing made costs more to manufacture and then get the finished product to market. That harms the recovery. High fuel prices harm the ability of the public to buy products they might otherwise have purchased with the funds that now are dedicated to putting fuel in our vehicles. It now takes, on average, about $20.00 to 25.00 more to fill the average fuel tank per week. On a national scale that is huge...how many cars are there in this nation that are driven daily or nearly so? Multiple that by $25.00 per week and see what I mean. That's a huge hit and one Obama could immediately ameliorate if he wished to.

Recall when fuel got so high late in the Bush years he spoke up and removed the offshore oil obstacles and the barrel price of crude plummeted. With a wave of Obama's magic wand, or more precisely as he is so want to do, a flapping of his erudite gums, and oil prices would drop like Usama's weighted body in the Arabian Sea. But no, can't have that can we? Clearly the progressive agenda is far more important that is the health and vitality of the US economy.

When I hear the tired phrase "It would take years for the new drilling to come on line," I chuckle at the misdirection of that concept. True, it wouldn't appear in any price drop today, but merely "drilling, drilling, drilling" alone would end 99% of the harmful speculation. Obama merely stating he is opening all drilling everywhere would cause OPEC to quake in fear knowing their cornering of the oil markets was ending. Add in that in a few years all that new drilling would deliver enough oil for us to not import a single barrel and the entire world would benefit from cheaper energy. How do progressive's reconcile all the alleged love and concern for humanity when they clearly favor uber expensive oil that the entire world needs to survive? Can you say "hypocrites?"

Keep in mind as well the knowledge that this wonderful "green" energy is much farther away than is the oil we have not yet even tapped. If it will take 10 years for all that newly drilled oil to come on line, how long will it be for all this solar, wind and hydro to come on line? 20 years? At least, and likely longer than that considering this has been talked about since the mid 1970's and still no green energy present in any quantity to speak of. Clearly not enough on the horizon to in any way alter the oil dynamic at all. It's all merely hopeful energy speculation and wished for nonsense at this point and has been for decades.

How clueless can one be to not accept that Obama and the progressive green agenda are killing the Untied States, and thus the well being and quality of life for the entirety of the nation's citizens? It's killing our economic recovery and harming our future in real and tangible ways. That is not leadership. That is Obama's hopeful agenda rearing its head. It's exactly like Obamacare...an anciently wished for tenet of the progressive agenda that is in fact exceptionally harmful to the entire nation and economy. Again, that IS NOT leadership in any manner with which I am accustomed.

Barack Obama is proving to be exactly what those of us who refused to fall for his hopey change feared he was. A demagogic mouth piece, full of lofty rhetoric and way short of the ability to lead, inspire confidence or demonstrate he is anything he was touted as being. So far he has exploded deficits and debt and not "Cut them in half by the end of [his] first term." He has not lent to any racial healing. He has not proven to be one of us, but instead is truly one who thinks himself above us. And he has clearly not solved a single problem this nation faced on the eve of his election. In fact but for a stone, cold dead Usama, he hasn't delivered anything except talk, and off prompter even that is far less than his media and sycophant supporters swore he was.
