Obama's Ever-Changing Numbers

Scotty Starnes
The pattern of incorrect Obama numbers started with the claim that the stimulus bill would keep unemployment below 8 percent and it would create 3.5 million jobs. How wrong were Obama's numbers? Unemployment is at 9.8 percent and since the stimulus bill was passed, we have lost about 3.3 million jobs.

During the health care debate, the pattern continued. Obama, Pelosi and Reid put out the claim that America had 47 million uninsured. Then Obama cut that down to 30 million during the speech where Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) called him a liar. Now we have Pelosi claiming the House health care bill will cover 36 million while the CBO claims it will only cover 6 million by 2019. Not to mention how the cost numbers have changed throughout the debate. Harry Reid says $2 trillion, Obama says $900 billion and Pelosi says $894 billion. What's the truth?

Cash for Clunkers was a government program that "gave" people a $4500 "rebate" to purchase new vehicles with higher gas mileage. The Obama administration claimed it a success when they blew $1 billion dollars in four days. Immediately they proposed a $2 billion dollar emergency bill to keep cash for clunkers running. Edmunds.com reported that the $4500 rebates actually cost the taxpayers $24,000 per vehicle sold.

The Obama administration promised to have 250 million doses of H1N1 vaccines ready by years end. People are sick and dying while only 30 million doses of the vaccine are available. That's a shortage of 220 million.

The pattern of incorrect numbers continued with the release of jobs created or saved data. The Obama administration put out data on recovery.gov that showed only 30,383 jobs had been "created or saved." The Associated Press fact-checked those claims and found it incorrect by about 5,000 jobs. The White House went on the attack.

A few days later, the Obama administration claimed the stimulus saved or created around 1 million jobs. Then recovery.gov posted the number 640,329 jobs saved or created. Even if you believe these numbers, ABC News reported that each stimulus job cost the taxpayer $160,000 per job.

The pattern of fraudulent numbers will continue with this administration. You simply cannot believe any data they put out. The pattern of debating their own numbers is starting to be a pattern. It's business as usual with the Obama administration.

Notice the pattern of liberals? They attempted to change their names to progressives. They continue to change history to benefit their party. Now they are changing names and numbers to fit their agenda. It's time to end this pattern of change.

Excellent article. As I've written elsewhere, this is what happens when America elects a third-year Junior Associate lawyer and adjunct lecturer.

The only thing honest about Obama is that he promised Change. Well we sure got it.
