Obama's Moving to the Center Angers Progressives

Recall the progressive's lamenting, defaming and attacking conservatives for not being centrists. Keep in mind Obama's governing farther toward the left than any president in recent memory. Now Obama's moving back to the center since the November drubbing. What does all this add up to? Politics as usual. So much for all that "new and different" kind of politician the media informed us Obama was.

I am not writing this to crack on Obama, for he's already cracked and broken. I am mentioning him and this series of events in an effort to expose his leftist supporters. Are reader's memories so short they forgot the 2010 pre-election admonitions from lefties that the nation wants "centrism?" Remember all that rot? Yet haven't we heard progressives screaming ad infinitum that Obama is not true to this progressive roots? That he's tacking too much toward the center? What gives here?

They lament that Obama is not progressive enough. Progressive cadre are incensed that Obama is not shoving every pre-election promise past the objections of an entire nation screaming "stop!" The left is busy as little bees trying to move the center-line of American politics as far left as possible, as the conservatives are trying to move it to the right. I get it...no crime there for either. The crime comes in when lefties will not admit that is their effort.

Isn't this proof positive of the attempted duplicity of progressive politicos? They are engaged in a never ending series of efforts that try to sway the public that conservatism is a radical outlier of mainstream American politics, economy and values. They scream any conservative adherence to to principle is proof of some evil agenda. They demand conservatives be "centrists."

The only conclusion that I can reach is sheer hypocrisy. Progressive's claim Republicans should be dead in the center, but if Obama even turns to the center and looks over the landscape the lefties go ape and act as if he betrayed them. How? So far he's passed a great deal of the progressive wish list and he's worked on trying to get the rest passed.

He shoved Obamacare past a nation screaming "no!" He gave us the Stimulus over a nation pretty much split down the middle. He shoved Financial/Wall Street reforms past us in yet another example of the progressive wish list. He took over Chrysler and GM, largely "socializing" a couple of the biggest manufacturing industries left in the US. Obama tried to close GITMO. He tried to pull us from Afghanistan. He tried to make us eat Cap & Trade. He is still trying to slide "net neutrality" by us. Of course there is more that just does not come to mind immediately.

It would seem that indeed Obama has delivered for his base. Any failure of the Obama agenda is entirely in the laps of the progressive held House and Senate, yet angry and ever the petulant children progressives always are, they are attacking their savior. It's not Obama's fault the progressive agenda is soundly rejected. Yet Obama is still trying to give his base as much as possible by admitting he will use regulation and Executive Orders to bypass Congress. Add in the attempted and FAILED omnibus bill was admittedly a second stimulus, and man are the lefties fired up they can't get what they want! The hypocrisy is so blatant as to be blinding.

Keep in mind the vaunted "independents" are running from Obama as fast as they can. So I must ask progressives, "What is it you want?" A more centrist president who is still one of you, or see him try and be 100% true blue to an agenda resoundingly rejected by the citizens? Are progressives not smart enough to see the realities or are they just so childish and petulant they can't man up and accept a world that does not find progressivism to be so damned lovely?

It's all a lie. Progressives expose themselves when they demand conservatives be centrists yet scream that Obama is a sell out if he does not give them everything they whine about! Ya can't have it both ways...I know they will try to, but the fact remains. We are watching them closely now and the more concentrated our observation, the less progressive wishes become law. And THAT is what progressives are really mad about! They just refuse to believe their agenda is what is being rejected so instead they project upon their only savior. Hopefully they will destroy themselves as they try and destroy Obama. That would be one Helluva nice Christmas present for an entire nation.
