When we see him and hear his "beeps" we should take them as signal for redoubling efforts here in the good old US of A to be spurred to innovation...innovation to NEVER AGAIN fall for such simple-minded political sophistry as "hope and change" or "chope" as my youngest cleverly says. He's more like the Soviet Sputnik than he or most others know.
He travels around the world "beeping" incessantly so that everyone knows he's there, much like a public spectacle that was Sputnik. It and seemingly Barack the Buffoon both exist merely to keep others on notice just how damned clever they were - Sputnik with it's beeping to remind the free world that them big, bad Ruskies were coming, and Barack, just flapping his gums to sound important and thoughtful, and yes, ever present, dreadfully for us. He's the proverbial bad penny...he just keeps turning up.
Obama's presidency is a never-ending reminder of the idiocy of a citizenry too disconnected from reality. Brings to mind the oft-repeated phrase of Saddam's spokesman, "Baghdad Bob," "you are too far from reality." Remember that idiot? Well now we have our own Baghdad Bob to remind us that disconnected citizens are too far from reality.
Politics, while seemingly complicated on their face, are not really. Yeah all the machinations can be complicated but in essence politics are nothing more than public will manifest in political action. Where it erodes into idiocy is when the public's will is bastardized into the will of one man or a small group of men who use simple minded phrases to win support and then use the power gained to do things not in the best interest of citizens.
Barack Obama's presidency is like a past romantic relationship I had...an embarrassment. Friends tried to tell me, but I knew best. I refused to listen. I was too smart. And in the end I look back on those few years as being a vacuum in my life. A time where limbo was the reality and sanity was elusive. Obama's presidency is to me a similar embarrassment. One that dreadfully we have to endure in order to HOPEFULLY learn something and NEVER repeat this horror.
I don't offer this because I don't like Obama and I damn sure don't. I offer this because of the extreme embarrassment I feel when I see him. I feel embarrassed for our national foolishness and the naive souls who could have bought into such platitudes as "hope and change." Truly, during the 2008 election cycle I could not have believed my nation so naive as to vote for that tripe. I soon found out I was dead wrong. It was a real life example of the axiom, "The grass is greener on the other side of the fence." As history shows clearly, IT IS NOT, wouldn't most agree?
We have a bit less than two more years of incessant "beeping" as our own Sputnik orbits itself and our globe in an effort to convince everyone else just how damned clever he is. Let this embarrassment and national nightmare be a history lesson well learned. Sputnik, like Obama, were just noise makers used to scare others into reality. It might not hurt for citizens to also remember that while politics are not overly complicated, they ARE more complicated than rhetoric and "hope and change."
History is to be learned, if for no other reason than to NOT REPEAT IT!

Post a CommentAsk anyone under 30 and 9 times out of 10 they will not know what Sputnik was. If he was trying to impress the younger generation, he failed.
Not to mention that "Sputnik Moment" phrase was borrowed from John Kerry and Energy Secretary Chu, who used it last year. (I wrote the following article 4 Y)

Everything is contrived with this administration. They are searching for greatness in every corner but can't find it anywhere.
When do we all get to be Bob Newhart and wake up from this awful dream!?
Let's hope this is his last two years in office
And just as Sputnik did Barry will fall to pieces and land on Wisconsin. Hope he doesn't land on a cheese shop.
