Obama's SOTU Leads Me to Ask "To What 'Union' Does He Refer?"

Snidely Whiplash
First, I did not watch the mouth that roared. I cannot take watching or listening to him any longer. His metered speech, an intentional effort mind you to sound important and thoughtful, drives me nuts. And his locking of his jaw as he looks over the heads of his audience is demonstration of his arrogance and is akin to Mussolini's famous speech where after he makes some Fascist point, he folds his arms, locks his jaw, looks over the heads of his audience and nods his head, I guess agreeing with himself. That is what my mind flashes to every time I see Obama do his oratory. Here is a great picture of my point.

As well he is not honest. He's very general in his chatter. He uses lofty phrases and imagery without ever making too awful many concrete statements of intention. And when he does make an allegedly "concrete" statement, a la "I have a laser focus on job creation," (paraphrased) it is just a damned lie. As DNC Chair Tim Kaine recently admitted, "Obama has been too busy working on health care to focus on jobs." (paraphrased)

This morning the Internet is rife with "fact check" articles about the SOTU speech last night and all of them, perhaps but for the sycophant left appraisals (MoveOn, Kos, Media Matters, Huff Po, etc.) are pretty clear the man is factually challenged in the extreme. I don't know where Obama gets his info from but he needs to fire his "Information Czar."

Obama's economic ideas are pure Keynesian. His method of delivering the message is to both speak to unity and greatness and then seeks to divide American's within class or racial overtones. I honestly have never heard a politician be so wishy washy and non specific. As well I do not believe I have ever seen media and the press so fawning over one who says little of real substance. He wants to freeze spending at present levels? What? The skyrocketing levels of current Federal spending? That is a solution? The massive and unprecedented deficits by about 300%-400%? Freeze that and call it responsible? That is BS in the extreme!

As for my "metered speech" denigration, have reader's ever seen and heard the video of Obama speaking before the SEIU during his two year run for the presidency? It is known as the "Obama's SEIU Agenda is my Agenda" speech. There is little meter in this theater of the absurd. Here he is in his "Southern Black Preacher" best.

Obama is all show and absolutely no go! He is all style and little substance. And as proof of the gullibility of many idiot Americans, his "show" sold to enough naive fools to get him elected out of "hope & change." What an absurd premise, trumped only by the foolishness of many who voted for him out of hope. My ears are red in embarrassment for them...truly they are. I actually cringe and get a feeling of being dirty when I think of the people, other than progressives and Democrats, who voted for this pretender. He is to effective leadership and genuine honesty what I am to this newly demanded "civility." Epic fail, no?

Barack Obama is a figurehead and a damned poor one at that. He's a phantasm. It is NOT what it appears or claims to be. It is NOT what his sycophants forward. It is NOT nor was it ever post partisan, post racial or post anything except of course "post-American Exceptionalism!" Nothing more!

In every other endeavor of life if one were to place any faith in one who has been proven dishonest over and over and over, the one placing trust in the prevaricator is known as a naive fool, yet here sit media and millions of sycophants and the legions of naive hopefuls who still will listen to this man preach to us from on high. Dunderheads who will listen with glee and then parrot the talking points as if they were factual. And worst of all the poor souls who actually still believe Obama is working on behalf of America for all Americans.

Obama is working to divide us by class and race. He's working toward marrying government and business so that government is in control. And that will lead to tomorrow's article that I think will incense the sycophants; puzzle the naive and make the politically astute nod their head in agreement.

And for a good, fair and accurate take on Obama's SOTU last night, read Saul Relative's excellent appraisal of the event. Saul is well known for being a fair player and a relatively non-partisan one. Read his fine summary.

Did you hear? 40% of all big companies with powerful unions have now received exemptions from the health care plan. That means the rest of us pick up the slack. And the Dems say that Bush was a "big business" cronie???

There's more to the metered speech than many may realize.

It was not an inspiration, to be sure. The only thing it inspired me to do was get up and get a pop tart. A few times.

I am tired to of listening to his lies

It was all lip-service as usual combined with a lot of lies and double-talk. In other words, it was the same speech Obama has given since 2007. Obama claims to be worried about the deficit, just not the ones he has ran up...at all-time record highs. Then in the next breath comes the liberal code word 'invest' which means more spending. I also notice all the things he wants to invest in tends to be those industries that are pro-union. I watched the first 5 minutes then turned to Tosh.0 on Comedy Central.

(cont.) ... corporations to buy and hoard their riches, while everything goes to hell... Then, after everything's screwed up, they want to tell the 97 percent of the country that has been actually hurt by the recession (remember, corporations had record profits throughout the recession and again last year) that they need to tighten their belts, sacrifice, and dream of a better tomorrow. "Sputnik Moment"? Our Sputnik Moment came when China and India, Mexico and other nations began bleeding off our industrial base, but Clinton and a Republican Congress gave us NAFTA, the Bush got us into two wars paid for with borrowed money and two economic recessions he fought by de-regulating and lowering taxes. What's the phrase? Conspiracy of dunces...

I don't know if I'd be so hard on the guy, there, my friend (but, then, you wouldn't be true to yourself if you weren't, so kudos), but, then, I wouldn't. I get the general impression that, like most politicians, Obama is high-minded and expansive-goal oriented (Bush was to, as I recall, and terrible at details -- look at that damned Iraq mess he got us into without an exit strategy), but that high-mindedness is not a great asset when its time to make policy on the little things that move some dirt and pays the electric bill, gases up the car and buys the groceries. I like that he moved to be positive (and don't we need a little positivity) while letting the country know we were in dire economic and world standing straits. What I don't like is the fact that he, and Democratic leaders as well as Republicans, have gotten the country into this mess by quibbling over asinine policies and half-measures, allowing lobbyists and corporations to buy and hoard thei
