Obama's Spending Stimulus Bill

Econmic Stimulus or Criminal Act?

Betsy Ross
It appears in all the articles and the rhetoric and spins now going on in the print and television media with respect to this almost 1 trillion dollar (including interest) spending bill the Democrats and Republicans who are and have been ineffectively standing by this past week, one question has been missing. Is this bill Constitutional, therefore, is it even legal? If the answer is in the negative, then those that are pushing for this legislation are actually committing a criminal act, not a stimulus for this country at all. How can you "stimulate" the country by placing it at an additional 1 trillion dollar deficit, resulting in inflationary taxes that will wipe out any gains, economic or otherwise, that such drastic illegal measures engender?

There was an interesting comment on one of the mainstream news websites by one of my fellow countrymen and his observations, which apparently few in America are actually sitting back with their mouths open while all this is going on and stated the obvious:

"Have Republicans become Democrats? Have Democrats become Communists? Have both parties truly lost their minds?"

In reading through all the various recipients of the stimulus sums, a great deal of which is also going to fund increasing government at the state and local level also and in giving more jobs to the public sector at the cost of the private sector and all taxpayers, actually, is included the most horrendous abridgement of citizens civil rights since the Bush Administrations' Patriot Act - and that is a national healthcare data base for the storage and transmission of medical records on the medical history and treatment of all Americans. The spin, of course, that is being put on this egregious privacy and civil rights violation, which cannot be "opted out of," by the way, is that it will create more jobs in the technology field (and for the universities, since a great deal of those sums are going to universities which will use students to input the data free of charge, while they of course are paying for the pleasure of working for free) and the safety factor in sharing medical tests and information between health care providers. What isn't mentioned is that there are over 60,000 different agencies, plus the federal bureaucrats, that will initially then have access to American's personal medical records. And if the past is any indication, the amount of individuals who will have access will increase - such as insurers, lawyers, and employers. The language and wording is so open ended and vague that I predict that the largest segment of the population that will be "stimulated" by this criminal act of Congress will be the legal profession itself - the ones that wrote the bill and have been advising both the President (a lawyer himself, although clear no Constitutional lawyer as claimed) and members of the committees in charge of writing this heinous legislation.

Maybe that was the intent all along, since the legal profession is the largest contributor, bar none, to most election campaigns through one source or another - either through their membership in the Bar, or various professional associations and corporate affiliations.

This bill is the Lawyers Employment Act of 2009, since the lawsuits over that one provision alone will give them loads of work and piles of cash for the next two decades.

Those that should know what a Constitutional violation and abridgement the provisions in that Act are at their very foundation, you would think would know better. But ethics, and the law - the true law, our Constitution - nowadays rarely mix.
