You might think this is not too big of a dilemma, but let us entertain a thought in regard to this. For a moment, lets surmise that your surviving family member is a brother. Perhaps you were having a difficult time with your brother over some stupid thing. Then, low and behold, you up and die! Now he is responsible for your parting words! Can you see where I am going with this?. The final words about you and your life are now in the hands of someone who hated your guts several days ago! Of course we would hope he would "do the right thing" and write up a glowing final statement to your life here on earth. But what if he decides to get even and write "from his heart" about what an idiot he thinks you were?
Even worse, what if it was someone like an ex-wife or some other scorned person from your colorful past? Remember, you are dead, and have no control of the outcome from this! Which brings me to a solution. A solution that lets us be in control of the final written word about our lives. Just as you would write a resume and embellish it for that potential employer, how about a do it yourself form for obituary writing. We would do it ourselves and we
could be as interesting as we wanted to be. The words would be all ours and we could all come out sounding like saints!
So there is your answer and you will not have to be concerned about this anymore. Hey if you don't want to get a official form that some company will be printing up for way too much money, just use the standard legal yellow pad, cause after all, you are writing this and you will want lots of room to say all those cool things about yourself!
