There's a flasher. He flashes. Ronnie (Seth Rogen), a mall cop, makes a big deal about it and freaks Brandi (Anna Faris), a behind the counter make-up girl from a department store, out. Detective Harrison (Ray Loitta) tries to control this Ronnie's overreacting and fails. Observe and Report.
There were three funny parts in this entire film. If I were to sit here and get specific about what they were, then I'd have to state I've forgotten. Because even though they were funny, they were not that memorable.
Ray Loitta was very subdued in this movie, more so than he normally is. Seth Rogen is almost becoming a characture of himself. There should be an award for Anna Faris's honor. She can play drunk very well...a little too well. She is the best part of this entire film. But her character reminds me an awful lot of her character in Just Friends.
The story was so damaging to the brain. There are stupid comedies that work because they are actually funny, but this wouldn't be one of those comedies...well except for those three parts that I cannot remember.
Let's all laugh because the rating is R and one of the reasons is graphic nudity and that would be for a naked man running. When a woman's boobs are bouncing during sex that just nudity, but a bouncing penis is graphic...I'd agree because I didn't want to see it. It scared me as if he really were a perverted man flashing me. I found that amusing.
Observe and Report is not only a stupid name for a movie it's a stupid concept. It didn't work. Every time it tried to take off as a great comedy it had a false start and it would try again. I got bored of it continually trying and I wanted it to be way over before it was even halfway over. It's below average and those that like it just might be too. That's because it's insulting that someone (as in the creator of the idea) would think that this was at all that funny and that sharing it was a good idea. Tisk, tisk.
