Occupy Wall Street is an incorrect title for the protests, since the protest is actually three blocks away from Wall Street and taking place in a privately owned park. Wall Street is not the real focus of the protests, according to some of the posts online.
If you look at the Occupy Wall Street and read some of the discussions taking place there is no common theme. One post will dicuss eliminating money, while another wants money to remain intact. Another post mentions that animals need to have the same rights that as humans. Yet another post says the protest isn't about money, then you read and hear about there being requests for donations and items be sent to them.
I find it interesting that these protestors haven't been seen marching on Washington D.C., writing well written informative letters to the newspapers, or providing solutions to what they are protesting. Wouldn't it be beneficial to provide educated, well written solutions to the remainder of the 99% the protestors claim to represent?
I have read online in a few places there has been alcohol and drug use in some of these Occupy locations, money being stolen, and major concerns about sanitation. How does being under the influence, criminal activity, and unsanitary get an effective message out to those of use who are watching? Or are these reports of such activities false and being manipulated by the media?
At some point in time this Occupy protest will end. The question I would like to see answered before it ends is a complex one. How did this protest change things for the majority of the world?
