October Brings

A Welcome to October from Our Five Senses

Diane Zoller-Ciatto

October brings awakening
Of all the five senses
Boundaries that reach far and wide
Beyond the neighbors' fences!

Hearing leaves crackle
While walking down the street
Tickle our ears as we go
But don't tickle our feet!

A feast for our eyes
As Mother Nature puts on a show
She takes her vivid palette
And makes us say Ah! and Oh!

For our sense of touch
We feel the sudden cold
A soft fleece jacket or blanket
Make memories as good as gold!

Our noses are offered smells
Like apple or pumpkin pie
Pot roast on a Sunday
Or a fireplace nearby!

But taste must be the greatest
As we savor autumn's best
Snappy apples and warming stews
My Goodness, how we are blessed!
