Memphis, TN can be a lively fun-filled city. Although, the city is known for Elvis and Blues music. Fall is approaching and the temperature is lowering, and there are a lot of events to go and enjoy in the month of October. Here are some events that might peak interest to you to go check out.

If you like crafts, The Pink Palace Museum is having their annual crafts fair on October 4th-7th. When you walk in the crafts fair you will see over 200 booths set up with a wide array of things to see and buy. The items range from Pottery, Jewelry, Furniture, contemporary arts, and anything else you can hand make or think of. Enjoy Music and concessions as you stroll through the winding path of crafts. There will be an area for kids to enjoy including costumed cartoon characters. Admission prices are for adults $7, seniors $5, and children $3 starting at 3 years old.

Native American Days returns on October 16-19 at the Chucalissa Museum. This is a fun family time event since it is geared toward students that are in Kindergarten to Ninth grade. There will be demonstrations that celebrate the North American heritage that is fun to watch. The kids can take part in hands on activates and hear stories of the past from the past. If you are wanting your child to learn something about the history of the area here this is an event you can't miss.

The Freedom Rewards will be held on October 23 giving appreciation to those who portray the memory of the Civil Rights Movement. Join them as they honor Earvin "Magic" Johnson with a Lifetime Achievement award. The Reception and Banquet is at the Cook Convention Center at 6:30pm. Call to get reservation information.

To help girt in the Fall and Halloween mood check out the Cedar Hill Farms Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze. This is a great family event to come and pick a pumpkin out and then walk through the spooky maze. This starts on October 1st and ends on Halloween night.

On Halloween night if you are looking for something geared more for the adults check out Southern Comfort Jazz Orchestra at the U of M Concert Hall. Chris Vadala will be showcasing his new work. Admission is reasonable, it is free to U of M College students, $5 for non-U of M students, and for all others $8.

Every month there is plenty to find to do. The cooler weather is just around the corner so you can't use the heat as an excuse not to enjoy some events in Memphis, TN.
