October: A Month of Strange Sports Moments

Many strange and unusual occurrences seem to happen in the month of October. The same holds true in the world of sports. While searching the web I have come across many pictures and videos which I have never seen before and didn't even know existed. Some are funny, strange, and shocking. This guide is meant to lead readers to these crazy and strange October sports moments.

There are bloopers and crazy moments from every sport that a person can think of and the National Football League is no exception. Many players, coaches, and referees mistakes and antics are caught on film for everyone to enjoy. One of the videos I came across had some footage from a Green Bay Packers game a few years back when Brett Favre was still the quarterback. Brett got frustrated during a play and took his frustrations out on the referee by throwing the football at him; of course he was flagged and received a penalty, but it was a strange and funny moment that I don't remember seeing. The National Hockey League has had its share of strange moments as well. There is one in particular that I came across during my search that I would like to tell about but I can't give to many details on. It was caught on live television on October 24, 2008 at a Detroit Red Wings game. There is a child who looks very angry doing something bad to Detroit player Andreas Lilja. I can't say what the boy's action is but it is very funny. If that was my child he would be in serious trouble. I found this video at LiveTvBloopers.com using the keywords NHL and funny.

There are a few strange sports stories on the Internet also. One of these originated in Bulgaria where soccer is a popular sport. This article came out on October 30, 2006 and is about a coach and his organization ordering one of his players to get married. This was an interesting article and I found it at Sportsbloopers.blogsport.com. Another story I found happened twenty years ago on October 28, 1989 during a college football game. This article is sad but fits in the strange category because of when it happened which was three days before Halloween, and can be found at Fanhouse.com using keywords strange and October.
