October is National Fire Prevention Month

A Round-Up of Fire Safety and Prevention Articles on AC

Kassidy Emmerson
October is the month of ghosts and goblins and Halloween fun for many Americans. According to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), October is also "National Fire Prevention Month." It's a good time for Americans to learn about fire safety and prevention. Unfortunately, no one is immune to fires. In 2008 alone, there were an estimated 1.5 million fires in the United States. Nearly 17,000 people were injured by fires; over 3,000 people died as the result of fires. The number of people who died is more than the number of people who died from all the natural disasters combined, according to the U.S. Fire Administration.

As a reminder that "October Is National Fire Prevention Month", I've rounded-up some of the most informative fire safety and prevention articles on AC. Please take some time to read these articles- those minutes could save your life.
