Octo-mom Brings Home the First Two of Eight Babies

They Were Brought Home in a New SUV to a New $560,000 Home.

It had to happen sometime - two of Nadya Suleman's eight babies were brought to her home in La Habra, California.

Of course you know that this mom aka octo-mom already had six kids at home ranging in age from two to seven, no job, and six more babies to bring home who were born on January 26 nine week premature.

The eight babies weighed from 1 pound, 8 ounces to 3 pounds, 4 ounces. They spent seven weeks in the neonatal intensive care unit at Kaiser Permanente Bellflower Medical Center. Noah and Isaiah are the two who came home and are about five pounds each. The other two girls and four boys are gaining weight and will go home or released from the hospital soon. (I do think given the new home removing these babies will not happen.)

The babies' homecoming brought the celebrity even more status as photographers, reporters, and people on the street had sprung up at Suleman's new home. Well if she wanted attention she got it. You really do have to be careful of what you wish for!

There is no more small house; however. The family now has a new SUV and a four-bedroom house with three baths in an area about 25 miles from Los Angeles. The house comes with a handy garage so the SUV could pull right in giving this mom some privacy. (huh? Isn't that an oxymoron? She doesn't want privacy.) She's come a long way from her small 3 bedroom house, baby.

The mob of people actually dented the garage door trying to get onto the SUV. I don't know who is crazier- the photos or Nadya.

It seems that everyone in the hospital was happy because whenever a preemie goes home and is healthy it is a good thing. The fact there are eight of them is another story. You can't blame the neighbors for wanting to see their new celebrity neighbor even if it meant missing American Idol.

If you are not up on the Suleman story she has published a diary online, had mild fights with her mom on Internet videos, and led tours of her new home for the media. She even had a baby shower on the Dr. Phil show. Her home (I'm sure you are wondering.) was listed for over $550,000. We don't know what opportunities have come along but these opportunities bought the house.

    Great write up.

I'm sure that Nadya's extraordinary goings on will continue to excite media attention. It's still mind boggling to me how this all came about. I can't imagine caring for one child on my own, let alone 14 children in total!

She won't say where the money came from and I have a feeling she has a religious support group who will continue to help her out - indefinitely? I doubt it.

where did the money come from... and where is it going to continue to come from?

I wonder but I am not surprised she won't tell about the money. It was probably some kind of donation from the religious right.

I heard about this....I wonder where she got the money for her new home?

I absolutely love following these people. I find it so interesting. Your coverage of the event was phenominal. I'm totally recommending this.
